Beautiful hotel with almost everything perfect. \Use this venue for anything really special. Only disappointment was the Breakfasts and the Dinner in the main outside rewxstaurant. The smaller restaurant at the back of the hotel is lovely, food, service and quality, first class

The staff at The Belmond Cipriani could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. The journey in the water taxi to the hotel was magical . Restaurant was expensive but very good. Breakfast was delicious. I will definitely go back for another stay hopefully next year in a warmer month to make use of beautiful outdoor pool.

We were lucky to get 2 nights accommodation at this hotel when we booked to travel home from Venice to London on the Orient Express. This was at the end of a 2 week long honeymoon in Italy and boy did we save the best til last. I was a bit worried that not being uber rich, we would be...

Despite new owners this remains one of the most impressive hotels you can stay in the world. Of course It has a setting that is hard to beat but the staff, restaurents and general facilities would mark this place out as world class even if it wasn't in one of the best locations Venice has to offer. Each visit made...

I can only reiterate the other reviewers of this fabulous hotel. From the moment we arrived at the Marco Polo airport we were met by friendly and courteous staff, who transported us (and our luggage) onto a waiting water taxi to the hotel. There we were greeted by very welcoming staff and given a tour of the hotel. Although I...

We stayed at the Cipriani for a two night stay after arriving on the Orient Express. We had a suite which was to a very high standard and every attention to detail - as you would expect. The view over the Lagoon was spectacular. We ate in Cip's Club on the decked area over the Lagoon which is a "must"...

We stayed for a couple of nights with a large group who like us had arrived on the Orient Express. The hotel is beautifully situated with wonderful views over the lagoon, and does feel a special place. Shame George C wasn't around, the nearest I got was drinking a cocktail he had named in the hotel bar ... We had...

Visited for a special 60th birthday meal on Tuesday 28th of October in the Oro. We had the tasting menu and wine flight. Each dish and wine was enthusiastically explained to us by a young vibrant team without being overbearing or pretentious. Carlo Tofani was very attentive and offered to add an extra course that I was interested in. Each...

We stayed at the Hotel Cipriani for 2 nights before boarding the Orient-Express to London. Overall - there is a lot of like and it is easy to see why this hotel is iconic. That said, simple service issues therefore stand out more easily...and need addressing. Plus - - We loved the private ferry that just cycles between the mainland...

Staying in Giudecca

Neighbourhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If Venice is a theatre, Belmond Hotel Cipriani is the Royal Box. It is a resort: a way of life, an island apart, in every sense. And it involves all the senses that make a stay unforgettable. Five minutes by private launch from St. Mark’s Square, on the tip of the Giudecca Island, Belmond Hotel Cipriani is in the heart of the city but removed from its hustle and bustle. Its 95 rooms and suites are exquisitely decorated with magnificent views over the open lagoon, the gardens and St. Marks. A day here is made up of layers of wonderful experiences, from luxuriating beside the Olympic-size swimming pool (the only one in central Venice) to relaxing with a signature treatment at the Casanova Wellness Centre. The Casanova gardens offer an oasis of peace, perfect for a Thai Chi session before heading off with a private boat for a personalised excursion in the lagoon. Choose to dine at the new Oro Restaurant for a timeless dining experience or at the iconic Cip’s Club admiring the view on St. Mark’s. Sip a signature cocktail at the Gabbiano Bar or enjoy a light lunch at the Porticciolo Restaurant. A red-clay tennis court, a gym and dedicated Kids' Club with pool are also available. ... more   less
