No doubt: Excelent location. You can reach the hotel by boat or walking. Near San Marcos and Rialto Bridge. Very clean, rooms are bigger than I expected. The breakfast is amazing. Also the staff is very kind.

Overall Aqua Palace is a nice hotel. Positives are the location and you can easily navigate to all the key areas of Venice and it just seems o be in a nice peaceful area even though so close to everything. We had a Junior Suite with Canal view and whilst the room was nice the shower was faulty which I...

My wife and I stayed at the Aqua Palace early March 2017. We had a canal room which was beyond expectation. It was fabulous. The highlight was meeting Silvia on the first morning at breakfast, who made us very welcome. After showing us to our table she told us that she would like to make us her specialty, which was...

We had a lovely stay at Aqua Palace. Pulled up in a water taxi and hopped straight into the reception. The 'elegant' room (£200) was small but very romantic with traditional features but still modern and clean. The best thing about the hotel was the location. It was so central, about a ten minute walk to St Mark's Square. A...

We stayed in the family room with two teenage boys. We had plenty of space and the bathroom was huge. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. When we came down for breakfast, the staff remembered what we all like to drink and got it for us right away. The hotel is in a great location, easy...

Take the watertaxi to the private landing for the Aqua Palace to get the full Venice experience. The hotel is well appointed with generous sized rooms and bathrooms, and comfortable bedding. Breakfast was a modest buffet but covered the basic European/American staples. Hotel is in a good location, an easy walk to St. Mark's Sq and other sites but far...

Stayed in the Jr. Suite on the 4th floor with a canal view that was incredible! Aqua Palace's website and Trip Advisor reviews were spot on with this hotel and our ultimate decision in selecting. Everything was perfect from the concierge setting up a personal greeting at the train station upon arrival, to the private water taxi to the hotel,...

My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights in this hotel and we enjoyed every moment of it. The Hotel is located centrally between the Rialto bridge and San Marco square. Both are within five minutes walking distance. Breakfast was included and offered everything we needed to start the day: Sausages, bacon, scrambled egg, toast with marmalade, fruit juices, fresh fruit...

The hotel is located half way between Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square. It is off the Main Street enough that it is not on the main tourist path that is always crowded. At night it is very quiet and right on a back canal. You can take a water taxi right from the airport and it will drop you...

Yet again another amazing stay here in the Aqua Palace. Even after a few years since we've last been, the hotel feels just as good. Extremely well located close enough to the action, but just on the quieter side of San Marco so you can enjoy walking away from crowds. The rooms are all extremely well appointed by any standard,...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
