Travellers' Choice
Aquarius is situated in the Santa Croce district, far away from the mass tourism. The palace overlooks San Giacomo dell’Orio square, an authentic island in the town, living in every moment of the day, where it is still possible to enjoy the true Venetian life among people still speaking Venetian dialect and where survive shops, nice typical restaurants and bars. The San Giacomo dell’Orio church, one of the oldest churches in Venice, frames this small popular and traditional corner. The interiors have an essential, but warm design, predominately of hazelnut, Havana and cream shades. The inner space is characterized by exposed bricks and stones, wood details, glass and gilded metal. The very comfortable 27 rooms and the 5 Apartments have a contemporary furnishing, embellished by glassware, Murano chandeliers , artistic pictures and decorative elements, exclusively created by local artists and craftsmen.

Wonderful hotel in Venice. Stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Creative contemporary design throughout. We had four rooms for the extended family - each room was different, and all were nice. Great courtyard bar to assemble for a drink before heading out. Comprehensive breakfast buffet. All the good stuff in Venice is readily accessible on foot. Extra special: great service throughout (thanks, Fabio!). Would definitely stay again, and gladly recommend to a friend.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed 1 night at his beautiful, elegant, super clean, beautifully interior designed hotel in Venice. All staff were very friendly and helpful, welcoming. But the hotel itself is just astonishing. An old palazzo that was renovated for 4 years before it was opened in Feb short before the lock down. It is approx. 800 m from Rialto Bridge and we loved staying at this beautiful hotel. The cosmetic products are from Acqua di Parma, the lights all over the place are made from Murano glass... Just beautiful. Will come back for sure

Venice always has the ability to surprise, from the history, the food (some good some bad) and the alleyways where it’s so easy to get lost. After a 15 minute leisurely walk from Piazzale Roma we came into a square next to a church with boys playing football and families relaxing. On the corner was an unassuming typical Venetian building but when we went in we were in one of the most impressive small hotels I have ever stayed in. Murano chandeliers, aquariums and amazing artwork in a modern but still definitely Venetian hotel. It’s about another 15 minutes walk to the Rialto and so you are still close but not in the middle of all the main, busy, tourist areas and generally it’s the kind of location I prefer. We had a family suite which had 2 bathrooms (and it’s own chandelier) and it was spotless and cleaned to a very high standard each day. Firm and comfortable king size bed with the kids saying it was the best sofa bed they had slept on. The church bells provide an 8am alarm so that you can beat the crowds and heat if you wish, could be annoying for some but for me part of the atmosphere of being in Venice. Breakfast was the best I have had in Italy, good selection of meats, cheeses, fruit and cakes with bacon and good scrambled eggs being the only hot options. All set in a palatial room with art and another chandelier. WiFi was excellent and we enjoyed getting away from the crowds and relaxing in the outdoor bar area next to the canal entrance playing games at the end of a long day getting lost in the alleys. However, the star of the show, and what makes any hotel regardless of grandeur, is the staff who were amazing. Always friendly, happy to help with advice, taxis, recommendations for food (Muro San Stae was fantastic) and also recovering lost games pieces for us. Grazie Mille to them for making our return to Venice so wonderful.

From the moment we stepped through the door this hotel just oozed class and quality. A great welcoming smile, fantastic decor, great room (301), a fantastic buffet breakfast in a glorious room. Staff were always happy, smiling and attentive. Great bar and courtyard to enjoy drinks in. the barman Manolo (not sure on spelling) was a great guy. An unexpected and lovely concert in the courtyard was a pleasant surprise. The 3 restaurants in the Campo and bacaro, gelateria and Co-Op just a stones throw away we’re great. When I come back to Venice I will be staying here again!

This was our 4th and last hotel on our 10 day Italy on our own tour before our cruise. We took the train from Florence to Venice and then a water taxi to drop us off 5 minutes from the hotel. We were stunned when we walked inside. Gorgeous. I cannot say enough about the staff. From check-in to check-out, they were so friendly and helpful. Our room was the first on the left when you walked up the steps. Very quiet and good a/c. Modern decor. Comfy bed, lots of shelf space but no drawers. Good closet space. We were only here for 2 nights. Good bathroom with vanity space. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Now, about the staff. They made phone calls for us for our Covid test. They gave perfect directions. When we needed to get to the airport (our cruise was changed from Venice to Trieste and the cruise line was providing a bus to take everyone there), they recommended a porter and the airport water taxi. I was a little hesitant about the water taxi because one of the vaporettos was so mobbed, I didn't know how we would manage with luggage. But they assured me the airport water taxi was different and they were right. They scheduled the porter for the next morning and he arrived right on time. The staff walked outside with us and waved goodbye. He took our bags to the correct water taxi stop, unloaded the bags, and made sure we were fine. The water taxi was just like they said. No problem and a nice trip. The 4 starts out of 5 is really just because I like to have some drawers. Oh, there is one chair in the room. It's very narrow. I am not overweight at all and it was still a little tight. Would I stay here again. Definitely!

Highly recommend this hotel. Beautiful old building tastefully renovated to retain original features. Beautiful Murano glass chandeliers in guest rooms, the breakfast room and lobby. The most comfortable beds ever! Situated in a lovely Campo with plenty of great restaurants in the area.

Had the most wonderful stay at this hotel. I took my mum for her 70th birthday. We were treated like VIPs, would particularly like to mention the lovely Antonio (George Ezra), Giovanna, & Carlotta. Thank you for a lovely stay. Beautiful, clean hotel.

We booked as a package through British Airways for 3 nights. We also pre-booked the water taxi from/to the airport/hotel, costing 115€ each way, as there were 4 of us. We booked through Consorzio Motoscafi, and would definitely recommend. Where they dropped us was about a 2 min walk to the hotel and 4 steps up and down. Would highly recommend this. Takes about half hour between airport and hotel. Think they all charge around the same price. The hotel was absolutely lovely. We had a medium room, which ticked all the boxes, lovely big, comfortable bed, great shower with Acqua dell Elba toiletries, which were replenished daily (soap, shower gel, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner). There was a kettle in the room, with tea and sugar, but no coffee or milk. There was a very well stocked Co-op opposite, so we bought from there. The room also had a hairdryer, slippers, room safe. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Great coffee and juices, scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, yogs, pastries, breads, pancakes, and lots more. Breakfast room is beautiful with the most amazing Murano chandeliers. There’s lots of Murano in the hotel, all beautiful. Everyone connected to the hotel were great - a real credit to the hotel. Umberto on Reception was extremely knowledgable, helpful and pleasant, as were Carlotta and Giovanni. The two lovely ladies at breakfast, our housekeeping lady, the chap in the bar, all very friendly and efficient. Thankyou. The location of the hotel is brilliant. Only 10 min walk to Rialto Bridge, 15 mins to St Mark’s Square, yet in a quiet neighbourhood with many excellent restaurants, bars, an ice cream parlour and an amazing patisserie all within steps. All pics below are either of the hotel or no further than 40 paces away. The hotel also had a lovely courtyard garden, which we did use more than we thought we would. Lots of places to sit and a beautiful herb garden at the end. All in all we would absolutely recommend this hotel and would definitely love to come back. Lastly, we used an app called ‘City Mapper’ to get around, which was invaluable. Covered walking, but also the vaporettos. If there isn’t a ticket machine at the vaporetto stop, you can get tickets at the tobacconists.

We had a fantastic stay in the Aquarius in April 2022! Everything was perfect from the beginning; the support during the reservation, the directions provided to us for our transfer from the airport to the hotel, and the warm welcome during check-in. As the hotel is practically new (it opened in 2020, shortly before the pandemic); our room was a mix of Venetian style with modern amenities. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom well equipped. The staff, no matter if reception, bar, breakfast room or housekeeping were very friendly and forthcoming. We have also received very good recommendations for restaurants. The location is perfect as well; it is located on the Campo San Giacomo dell'Orio in the mostly residential district of Santa Croce, in 5 min walking distance to the vaporetto stop "San Stae", which is called by Line 1 of ACTV, and the "Orange Line" of Alilaguna, one of the shuttle lines to and from the airport. The square itself is very lively with locals, mainly families, and features a number of wine bars, restaurants and a supermarket. The breakfast was very good as well, a mix of international and Italian style breakfasts, and we enjoyed an after dinner drink at the "Schubert" Bar every night. We can highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely be back!
