We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. We arrived after dark on airport water bus, it was a short 5 minute walk to the hotel. Reception very helpful and welcoming, and gave us a good local restaurant recommendation. Excellent breakfast with lots of hot and cold choices, daily variety, with very attentive staff who made excellent coffee and would cook you crepes...

Ok. Honest review. First night, few problems, however, we arrived late at night not much could be done. In the morning: Our room was changed / upgraded FOC. This is a beautiful hotel, I cannot stress the attention to detail in decor. Everything screams historical Venice. It's hard to put into words. It's a 5 min walk from everything, but...

Level setting - we travel often and are accustom to high end hotels. We were so very happy to arrive at this lovely hotel after a long day of traveling. It was a bit hard to find at first. Take the Vaparetto orange line and get off at the St Angelo stop. we took the first bridge and then made...

My boyfriend and I have just returned from 4 days in venice staying at the palazzo paruta. The hotel was everything I was hoping for and more! We booked a private transfer through the hotel which was an amazing way to start our trip getting a private boat right up to the hotel door. We stayed in a standard room...

Conveniently located in a quiet part of Venice yet close to many sights. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful and attentive. Our room was well decorated in the Venetian style as was the breakfast room.

Staff was very kind. The hotel is nice and it looks like a Venetian palace with perfect accomodation. The location is great. Silent rooms. Good breakfast. We really loved the experience and we would totally repeat.

We chose this hotel based on the traditional Venetian look and booked a Junior Suite with Canal View. We weren't disappointed with our room and I felt the history in both the room and hotel. Room and bathroom were clean, breakfast was great - one of the best breakfasts for an included in the price one that we've had. Not...

Upon checking in, we were advised that the hotel was full so had to be upgraded for 2 nights out of the 3 originally booked. After being taken to the top floor, we discovered that the ceilings were extremely low & my other half kept banging his head. Another thing we noticed was that there were quite a few flies...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
