Perfectly situated with its own canal bridge. Lovely traditional rooms. Elegant, historic public rooms. Really good breakfast. Staff were charming, helpful, and evidently take pride in offering excellent service. We live in the country and are unaccustomed to city noise, but Palazzo Paruta was wonderfully quiet at night even with the window open ... just the sound of church bells...

All the reasons for the first visit were there for the 2nd stay. Absolutely gracious folks from the front desk onwards. A great location, palatial surroundings, and a hearty breakfast that kept us going all day. Many thanks for all the splendid cappuccinos. The afternoon tea is a lovely way to ease into the evening. They made us feel quite...

We spent 4 nights at Palazzo Paruta in the room type with the blue canopy. We actually started laughing when we entered the room, looking up at the massive Murano glass chandelier and heavy draperies with our mouths open like a couple of idiots! :D The staff member who helped us with our luggage was very nice and seemed to...

When I arrived in Venice and stepped out of the Train Station, the view of the Grand Canal was magical. When I made it to the hotel and was greeted with a smile and had the Desk Clerk come up with solutions to an issue I had that could have destroyed the vacation, the magic continued. I was brought up...

On arrival we were allocated room 101 - bit like a dungeon and I kept hitting my head in the bathroom, it's small! The hotel did transfer us to another room the following day and were very helpful. The hotel has shortcomings- Showers could do with some descaler around the base - not that clean, especially outside door at base....

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! First impressions were that the location was great, the room was beautiful and staff so friendly. We honestly couldn't recommend highly enough and we would return in a heartbeat. The breakfast buffet was yummy too!

Recently stayed at the Palazzo Partua in one of their Apartments, which is just across the Campo Sant'Angelo. Beautiful big one bedroom apartment with a private terrace and a small kitchenette. Perfectly appointed and perfect for our family. We followed the direction they provide and got there with no difficulty. It did involve an approx 20 min ride on the...

Great hotel, great location. Easy to get everywhere!! Very polite staff, we definitely had a great time. Pretty rooms for an amazing price. Close to water bus stations, in the middle of everything. For one side Rialto bridge, to the other side piazza San Marco. Definitely recommend!!

I can't say enough about this hotel. We booked the junior suite and it was a breathtaking room. We had more space than we knew what to do with and we felt like luxury. The staff were always very friendly and provided us with spectacular service. They offer a full free breakfast with made to order espresso drinks. It's located...

Not keen on the interior of this hotel seems old fashioned rather than regal or palatial. Did have a musky smell in the corridor. The service was very good and the breakfast very nice with a great service by the staff. Its in a nice area very central and does offer water taxi if the water level is OK to...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
