This is a very comfortable hotel that attempts to make their guests welcomed. Location is minutes from st marks sq, Rialto bridge, art museums, etc... The breakfast and coffee are perfect European fare and there are quirky rooms but that's expected in a 300 yr old building. Enjoy the experience!

My family and I stayed at the Palazzo Paruta Residence during our visit to Venice and had a wonderful time!! The Residence offers apartment accommodation, ideal when travelling with family, offering spacious entrance hall, a vast open plan kitchen - living room and equally spacious bedroom and bathroom. The apartment overlooks the piazza, making it ideal to sip your coffee... More

We stayed in room 201. The room, albeit small, was comfortable, clean and smart. The hotel was ideally located in Venice, never being too far from any of the key sights. Being in Venice, where there are no roads, the room was very quiet - ideal for a good nights sleep. The staff were very attentive and spoke excellent English.... More

First of all, for those who intending to book this hotel, be very sure that you have your GPS turned up after you disembark from the pier station. It can be confusing to locate the entrance of the hotel. The room is decent but little old. Bed is not the most comfortable you would expect from the 4-5 stars hotel.... More

We stayed at the Paruta in the middle of September for a couple of nights on our honeymoon before getting on a cruise. The staff was absolutely great and took wonderful care of us (I don't think we even mentioned it was our honeymoon). The location is phenomenal with only a short (less than 10 minute walk) from St Marks... More

This hotel was booked as part of a package through Costco. This was our first trip to Italy so some of the negatives may just be the way things are in Italy and Venice in particular. We stayed three nights The pluses: 1.) the hotel is a short walk from the water bus stop, and only two small bridges to... More

Standard room was quite small, otherwise it was beautifully arranged. Staff was friendly, the hotel itself well managed and the location was perfect with the short walking distance to the most of monuments. The location was quiet and breakfast was tasty.

This was the perfect hotel for our honeymoon. Service was exceptional, hotel even had a bottle of bubbly waiting for us in our room upon arrival. Close to all major attractions and San Marco square. Hotel has a cute bar in a small courtyard area. Breakfast was excellent and included some hot items. Rooms were very clean and updated. Private... More

This was truly the high light of our trip to Venice - the suite that we booked for the night was worth every cent - it was a 17tj century room that was exquisitely appointed and made our stay in Venice so much more of an incredible experience

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
