The hotel is in a great location (but very difficult to find...), the hotel staff is nice, the breakfast is just outstanding and you can even ask a gluten free breakfast (if you ask a head of time), they don't have gluten free breads though but have few cookies and crackers. We had a really tiny bedroom though, I think...

We were celebrating a special anniversary and chose this hotel as the reviews were great. We were not disappointed! We booked direct with the hotel website as it was cheaper than all of the other sites. I did mention the reason we were coming to Venice and the owners took note as we were treated to an upgrade and champagne....

My wife and I spent two nights at this beautiful hotel in Venice! The staff was great and helpful. The decoration is really nice. We stayed in the agosto room. It is really small but has a nice bathroom. We would recommend this hotel anytime!

We stayed 2 nights in this Fantastic Hotel, and wish we had stayed longer. The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff was exceptional, and we felt we were treated as if we were their only guest. They were warm and patient with us as we oriented ourselves in Venice. The breakfast buffet was fresh and plentiful, and the arrangement of...

We stayed in hotels all over Europe but AD place had to be our favorite hotel. We found the hotel very easy to find as we took directions from there website. The hotel is perfectly situated minutes away from the st Marcos square. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by one of the staff who quickly processed our reservation. He...

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon and one stop was to AD Place in Venice. The service was perfect, very nice front desk. Very clean rooms. Great breakfast. Large size rooms, in comparison to normal european hotels. All of the rooms are named by the months. We were originally put in "December room" - on the...

After a long flight from the US, we drove into a parking garage on the circle and took the Vaporetto to the Santa Maria del Giglio stop - a great introduction to the city. Giglio is a quiet stop and just past the little circle and a narrow walkway, the buildings open up the a canal with gondolas passing by....

Modern yet tastefully designed and with everything you could need. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great value rate booked directly with the hotel. Overall highly recommended.

This place looked great. The breakfast were also great. some of the things missing here was instruction. We visited 4 cities while in Italy and all of them were clear on what was included with the price of the room. This room offered the least for the most amount of money. The air didn't work the shower was small and...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
