Its 5 minutes from the Rialto Bridge, and from the Vaporetto and the Airport boat bus. Yet its quiet and calm. Excellent fro getting around both by boat and on foot. The flat itself is nicer than the pictures suggest. 2 good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds. 2 bathrooms and well equipped kitchen. Spotlessly clean. Sabina the owner is delightful, and...

The apartment is right in a perfect location, 2 minutes from Rialto but instead of being in the direction of the crowded San Marco, it is located towards the less touristic neighborhoods of San Polo and Santa Croce. The owner was really helpful and nice, letting us know every day about the times of 'acqua alta' and helping us with...

Dear guests, thank you so much for your comment. I am happy you had a nice stay and that high water did not disturb you that much...the town can be full of charm with high water but surely it brings some problems....! We try to organize the things in the best way possible in these cases but it is important...

Our visit to Venice in spring 2013 was made especially enjoyable due to the wonderful Residenza Valier apartment that we lived in, and the warmth and hospitality offered by the owner Ms Sabina. The apartment was very well maintained and located within very short walking distance of Rialto Bridge, San Marco and most of the other attractions within the island...

Our family of three (including a 3 month old baby) stayed here for 5 nights / 6 days and it could not have been more perfect. The location is less than five minutes' walk from the San Silvestro vaporetto stop, the Rialto farmer's market, the Rialto bridge, and a ton of cafes, restaurants, and shops. It was an easy walk...

I stayed in Sabina's Residenza Vallier for 4 weeks and had a fantastic time in "my" Venetian apartment!! The location could not be better since it is within a 10-15 minute walk from most attractions but is on a very quiet street. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and spacious -- really ideal for either a short or long term stay....

Residenza Valier is the best place to stay in Venice by far! Not only because of it’s location, which is appox. 5 min from Rialto Bridge. We stayed in Residenza Valier in May 2013 for 3 days. It is beautiful apartment- looks like brand new. In fact in looks like 3*at least, but for a way lower price. The place...

I have just been organising a trip to Venice for four people in October this year. Whilst the group decided in the end that an apartment/flat wasn't quite what we needed, I wanted to write a review anyway, just because of how helpful Sabina was! She is very friendly, and writes excellent English, answering all the various questions I and...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
