Breathtaking facility as it puts you back in Casanova stlye ancient Venice. The room and bascially all sites of the historic and level-to-detail renewed palazzo were outstanding. Breakfast was one of the best we ever had in any hotel worldwide - so much love to detail! Great food mainly from regional providers served in tapas-style. Thanks again. Best location in the vibrant and authentic Canneregio area of Venice. So what to complain about? We searched hard, but found some small areas for improvement: The room was very spacious and had the size of a ballroom. However the storage spaces for clothes, shoes etc. was very limited. So we wondered where to put our opera/ carnival outfits and simply had to leave them on the floor/ chairs. The bathroom was not iluminated enough, so could be a challenging for cosmetique experiments, especially around carnival. Nobody needs a second TV in the bathroom if you can only watch while standing :-) We come back, loved it there...

Stayed for 4 nights over Christmas with an expectation of escapism from the commercialised festive experience of the norm in the UK. Looking for a pamper feeling of exclusivity and a treat after a terrible year. For Venice for the time of year, we did pay £1500 for 4 nights B&B including a no frills airline economy flight and having visited Venice in 2019 for the same period for half the price directly on the Grand Canal, my expectation benchmark for this hotel situated on a side canal was rather high indeed. The hotel is very understated from external appearances and we arrived rather windswept arriving by speed boat from Marco Polo Airport directly to the hotel. The hotel is exceptionally clean and their are unique Murano glass style hand sanitizer stations in corridors which is very novel. The check in was informative and we were brought a welcome drink of apple juice served in white and gold coloured cocktail glasses which added to the hotel theme of “all show but no substance”. Reception were kind enough to assist in advice on vaporetto stations and booking of gallery tickets online. Our room situated on the 1st floor just off an opulent guest lounge fitting enough to be classed as a museum or Royal palace. Appreciate this is a renovated former palace however it really is not our taste in decor. We were blown away by our room which had original ceiling and wall frescoes, the initial opulence of the room with its swags and tails at the windows hiding the view of the canal. The room was a novelty for around 24 hrs and waking the first morning wondered if our Queen awakens to such a room! Complimentary bottled water only available in the room once in our stay with an expectancy to order at a princely gross sum from the in room dining menu. Ridiculous prices for soft drinks in your room. We were going to dine in the hotel on Christmas Day however the menu offered an acquired taste palette and again with a substantial pricing system en par with some higher quality restaurants but having sampled breakfast I was not prepared to hi d the hotel a chance to prove itself. Breakfast, so day 1 this was a novel experience if not ridiculous, served as a type of mezze but an odd mixture of hotch potch of dishes which were rather arrogant and bizzare. We didn’t even bother with breakfast on Christmas Day it really wasn’t worth the effort of getting up for! So 5 star hotel didn’t query why we didn’t call for breakfast - there were very few guests staying sk you would notice that we were missing! No merry Christmas greetings, no little festive touches in our room - when we stayed in 2019 on grand canal we returned to chocolates in the room, a mini panettone in a silk bag and a clear bauble with a gingerbread Christmas tree shape within plus complimentary Prosecco for breakfast…… So then there is our room bathroom. Literally the tiniest room in the house. Do small I have a bigger understairs cupboard at home! I am 5ft 1 and size 10 fully dressed and I found it a tight room to manoeuvre - the shower cubicle you literally need to watch you don’t have your eyes out on those wall taps or the metal hanging basket on the glass door. I bashed my arms on the walls trying to wash my hair due to the frugal amount of space within the cubicle. Also where does the hotel expect you to place your own toiletries? They do provide a hairdryer and hair straighteners yet where do you plug them in without the cable pulling out of the wall when you try to use near the vanity mirror. Not well thought out room at all. I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again there are far better quality and more value for money and experience hotels in Venice or Murano. I do fetl they are trying to be better than what they actually are in reality.

From the beginning we felt like we were more than welcome, it is the best reception we have ever had in the many hotels we have been. The service was all around the best from beginning to end. The rooms was very clean, just a little but about the aircon, that was to loud but we didn’t need it to much The only thing that was not for us was the breakfast, where the selection wasn’t in our taste, only the extra choices, but we could only choose one thing, 2 menu’s every day and to much not in our taste. All in all a great hotel that is the value worth

We stayed here in October 2020 for our 2 year anniversary. It was amazing, like a dream. The service was perfect and surprised us with little snacks and drinks and our room was just stunning. I never wanted to leave.

We’ve just got back from an incredible trip to Venice, and I’m very sad to be making my own breakfast this morning. Ca Bonfadini is lovely in nearly every respect - the staff were all friendly, attentive and very helpful with things like ordering water taxis or explaining vaporetto schedules. The decor is new but classically Venetian, and the food at breakfast was varied and tasty despite buffet service not being available. Their corona measures were reassuring without being disruptive. We were mostly out every day but managed to have a cocktail by the canal one evening - their Bellini was excellent. We also liked the quiet but picturesque location. The only thing I’d criticise was the management policy of not allowing guests use of an iron. They offer a laundry service but most of my clothes were only lightly creased from the case and it would have been silly (and pricey) to send them all off for pressing. The reason for the no iron policy is that it’s a fire risk, but I’ve never come across this in any hotel before! And surely the iron and board could be taken back promptly after the guest’s use if it’s that much of a concern? Please rethink this policy guys.

We stayed in the presidential suite and this room was amazing with paintings all over the walls, living space was large and rooms were clean and spotless. Breakfast was good and staff were very helpful and polite. This was the best hotel in Venice compared to all the others we stayed in.

If you want to stay in a really beautiful and luxury hotel in Venice you must visit thus hotel. The rooms are really amazing: very well decorated and extremely spacious. Also, it is provided with the most modern techniques. And they have a very good restaurant as well. This is really top class!

High traveler (2 trips per month). Some very basic issues/amenities that could have easily been handled but were not. Appeared as though staff hands (who were really eager and quite delightful) were tied to management decisions.
