Location was great. Right off the bus stop in Venice. The room is tiny. They do have breakfast available. Our AC didn’t work in our room despite calling them to fix it. It was hot at night! Don’t have great views. Still need a boat taxi 20-30 minutes to San Marco. For the price, it’s not bad.
We have stayed at this hotel three times since 2019. Twice just before the Covid-19 pandemic (Oct 2019 and January 2020) and most recently in March/April 2021. Staying here is like coming home. We have gotten to know the staff and they take great strides to get to know their guests and anticipate their guests needs. Everyone at the hotel goes 110% to assist guests. Staff is multilingual and professionally trained. We've had the opportunity to stay in three different types of rooms during our three stays. Once facing the interior courtyard, once facing the rear canal, and most recently in a junior suite which faces the plaza know as Piazzale Roma. Each time we were not bothered by any noise. As was said in another review on here, the windows are soundproofed and do open. When we initially arrived, the heating system was still working and the room was a pleasant temperature. Towards the end of our stay, the hotel turned the AC system on for the Spring/Summer season and the AC worked really well. There is a very simple to understand thermostat in the room. Even though our room faced the square - it was quiet. Housekeeping service is daily and the rooms are well appointed. We love hoe there is an excellent use of space. The bed is very comfortable. Breakfasts at the time of this review were still being served with plastic covered single servings. Even though the buffet breakfast looks different due to Covid precautions, there was a fine selection of breakfast meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit, frittatas, pastry and breads etc. We liked how the hotel catered to the gluten-free diets with many items marked as gluten-free. They also had milk alternatives which was nice. The staff working the breakfast are very fast and efficient with a friendly smile. Front desk staff and management are very helpful and always willing to make great recommendations. The hotel is wonderfully situated near the train station and the bus plaza making for a quick get-a-way without having to trek through Venezia by foot or waterway. We loved that the Marco Polo Airport bus picks up just in front of the hotel. As others have reviewed - there is also a vaporetto stop with many lines right at Piazzale Roma and many lines start here. Within a stone's throw from the hotel is a pharmacy as well as a nice park. There are also many parking garages near the hotel as well as a Sixt Car rental nest door to the hotel. Would we stay here again - absolutely!…
I stayed at this lovely property in Venice last month and I occupied a room facing the canal at the back of the hotel. My room faced a canal and was one of only 3-5 rooms with a very small balcony. There is not a lot of space on the balcony – mainly to stand. There is a small rectangular table too. If you want the “full Venetian canal view experience” – then don’t stay here. However, this hotel which was built in 2018 is modern, clean, and super super convenient. Yes, it’s a stone’s throw from the train station and the front faces the Piazza Roma – where all the busses arrive/depart Venice as well as the People Mover rail system to the Traghetto area – one would expect a lot of noise – but in fact no noise exists. Before I booked the hotel, I looked at Google Maps and was concerned about its location on the busy piazza. Don’t be fooled! The hotel is super quiet because all the rooms have sound proofed windows (yes, they open) and none of the rooms face the piazza. Looking at the hotel room map, I noticed that there are three sections to the hotel (which has about 80 rooms). One section looks into the hotel’s quiet courtyard, one section looks over the quiet back canal at rear of hotel, and the third section looks into a quiet alley on the side of the hotel. The rooms are very functional, smaller by American standards but not as small as NYC hotel rooms, very well-designed to make excellent use of the space. I had a queen-sized bed which slept two people easily. I think there are only two rooms types – standard and junior suites. My standard canal facing room with balcony had a small round table and one chair. There is a small closet and excellent storage space. The bathroom was all tiled and had a large sink with storage area under it and next to it, a bidet, toilet and a nice large shower with a lot of elbow space. There is a translucent wall on one side of the shower that casts light into the bedroom which was pretty cool. Robes, hairdryers, and bathroom product as well as a coffee maker are all in the room. Love the wood décor behind the bed. A great heater which was easy to understand how to use. The breakfast was nice – for an AC brand hotel. They are still taking Covid precautions so I was informed by the helpful and very friendly staff that the breakfast buffet was slightly different than usual. Everything was single served and wrapped in plastic. The bar person at night was very friendly and I enjoyed my Venetian Spritz sitting in the courtyard! Definitely would stay here again as it is sooooo convenient. The vaporetto (water busses) stop at piazza Roma so you don’t have to walk to the railway station and get on there! Why bother taking a water taxi ($$), or the vaporetto water bus, or walking your luggage up and down the bridges and streets packed with people with your luggage when you can stay here where it’s so close to everything??! If you are a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum level or higher member (as I am)– there is a 10 Euro F&B credit each day per person per room which can be applied to breakfast or bar service. One word of caution and this is not reflective of the hotel - - there is a large bridge that connects the piazza Roma to the train station and if it rains, or is misty, the glass steps on the sides of the bridge are very slippery so be careful and stay in the middle part of the bridge ! There is a way around it, but it involves taking three other bridges.…
We enjoyed our stay here. Good location, can get taxi from airport straight to hotel. Doesnt look very nice from front of hotel but smart inside. Comfy room with view over canal. Lovely and quiet. Nice bathroom. Slight complaint is the hairdryer was the loudest I've used ever- like a pneumatic drill! Breakfast ok- was hoping for a couple more types of pastries. But overall good stay, would recommend if staying in beautiful Venice.
It was ok and cheap for Venice. Nothing at all special - location is conveinent. Few niggles: room was far too warm at night (independent rooms settings were ornaments at best). Bed was not particularly comfortable. Coffee machine was the only source of coffee if you didn't want an expresso; it was awful. Had a weird experience ordering drinks in the evening. Had to sign for drinks each and every time one night and not the night before; my solution stayed clear of the bar on the third nigh. Seemed to be a trust issue. Certainly a first for myself; only stayed in 30+ different Marriott/Sheraton properties around the world. Breakfast was cheap and ok. Will certainly head back to Venice again, will give this hotel a miss!
Pandemic related issues aside, the very dated rooms (only the lobby has been slightly brought into the 20th century), the lack of amenities, and very unprofessional staff make for this a very poor lodging option while in Venice, Italy. The location can be looked at positively as it is not too far outside the perimeter of the most visited areas of Venice, but that is basically it. Buyer beware… you’ve been advised… there are much better options (trust me… I made that mistake and won’t do it again!).
My husband and I had this trip planned for May 2020 and of course it had to be canceled because of Covid. We were so excited in the spring of 2021 when Italy reopened. I immediately rebooked us for our dream trip to Venice. I am a business traveler and tend to gravitate to a Marriott property when I travel for work and pleasure. I wasn’t sure about the location but felt wherever we needed to go we could walk. I am so happy that we stayed where we did, the AC hotel is located by the bus and the train station. It was about a one to 2 mile walk to San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. We were happy that we stayed where we did because it forced us to explore the beautiful city of Venice. Our biggest decision when we walked out of our hotel was to go left or right. We were able to discover a lot of areas where the locals hang out and eat which is what we really enjoy. It was an amazing trip and we felt like locals after a week there. The hotel room was a great size there was a closet and drawers, it was very quiet and the room was dark. It was so dark that most of the time we didn’t leave that room until afternoon, but that was also trying to adjust to the six hour time difference.…
This is a nice small hotel w a boutique feel. The rooms are small - smallest I saw in several AC hotels in Italy The locations is convenient if you are driving in (but the parking is 40eur per night! ) The walk to San Marco square is about 30-45 min which is nice in decent weather. We were also a short walk away from the public water ferries. Overall we had a good stay.
Very nice hotel. We stayed due 2 nights. It is a small boutique hotel but is brand new and quite pretty in the lobby and at the restaurant. We took a bus from the airport to the hotel which took about 30 minutes but it dropped us off right in front of the hotel which was so easy. The hotel is located at the beginning of the canal just off the island. The rooms are very small but new, modern and clean. Check in was easy and the staff was very nice and helpful with any questions you may have. They gave us a map of Venice with a summary of the Island which was very helpful. I like the location because every day we could start on one end of the island walk through and see everything. There are some cute restaurants around the neighborhood where the hotel is but it’s much better to eat on the island at any of the local restaurants. I highly recommend!…
We had a delightful stay at this hotel. My son and I used this as a base to explore Venice over a week and it’s location and access to ferries was ideal. My son loved the breakfast. The wait staff, as well as those at the front desk, were lovely. Look forward to returning!
