My friend and I enjoyed every aspect of our stay at Ca' Barba B&B. The location is extremely central, only minutes away from the famous Rialto Bridge and market! This being said, the location was also quiet and private, and made us feel extremely safe. Alessandro was the kindest of hosts, seeing to our every need. He kindly gave us... More

Spent 3 nights at Alessandro's B and B middle of October this year. His place is situated close to the Rialto fish market, a waters stop, walking distance to all attractions in Venice. More importantly he offered to meet us at the water's station, gave us insightful ideas to steer away from the touristy crowds and offered terrific places to... More

Thank you for hosting my friend Andrew and I Alessandro! We very much enjoyed our stay at Ca' Barba. Well-located yet out of the way, this Bed & Breakfast is clean, modern and spacious and offered the best combination of value and luxury I could find in Venice. A lovely breakfast was provided each morning and Alessandro was full of... More

This B&B, close to the Mercato di Rialto on the Grand Canal, is a truly wonderful find. Alessandro is a truly 1st class host and provides a wonderful setting for a visit to Venice. Our room was very clean, the breakfast was great and his helpful tips, comments and directions proved invaluable. Every recommended spot to visit was worth the... More

We had an amazing time in Florence and that would not have been possible without Alessandro! He was such a great host, his local knowledge and recommendations were priceless and saved us a lot of disappointment and mediocre experiences (eating, shopping, sightseeing). Venice is a difficult city to navigate for a tourist (not just in geographical sense) and Alessandro makes... More

We bless the day we found ca Barba on line and were able to book 2 rooms. The owner, Alessandro, is beyond anything you dream of when you plan your trip. He's adorable, informative, charming, funny and beyond helpful. He gave each of us a book about Venice but told us to throw away our maps and just wander and... More

We stayed here for two nights. Very clean and welcoming was very friendly, we were met off the vaporetto. Great location near everything but on a quiet street. Room 2 was a nice size and jacuzzi bath was great. Breakfast was ok. Would stay again.

We arrived in Venice and had no problem getting to the B&B, Alessandro had given us great directions. Our room was very large for the area, it was clean with a espresso machine and we had a private bathroom with a Jacuzzi shower. Each morning Alessandro provided us with delicious pastries, fruit and juice as well as a map of... More

A most highly recommended b&b for your stay in Venice. It's position in Venice (close to the grand canal and Rialto bridge, but off a quiet alley), it's presentation (highest quality throughout), and most importantly the amazing and charming host, Alessandro, who went out of his way to guide us on where to go and the best ways to enjoy... Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
