points we liked. Lovely old building and we had a grand room (junior suite) front desk staff helpful. Breakfast was excellent for Italy including healthy choices . points we didn’t like: no guest lounge. no restaurant ( they will tell you they do sushi). very small garden with no bar service available middle of the day. Hotel was expensive but it felt like they were running a minimum service with few staff. not sure how they managed to get a 4-star rating unless serving sushi ticks the box of restaurant and room service. not a bad place to stay but we think there are better local options for the price paid.
We arrived late and we're upgraded to a beautiful 2 room suite and iced champagne! We had a horrendous flying experience and we're delayed by 12 hours and our trip was almost ruined ( American Airlines). Arriving to such a beautiful hotel with this welcome was so appreciated. The staff is very nice. Hotel is lovely, breakfast was a very nice buffet in a pretty setting. Something for everyone. The service was excellent! Loved everything about this hotel right on the canal. When we arrived and left the water taxi pick up is right out the door. Don't hesitate to stay here!
This was an all around excellent hotel. Location - Set along a quiet canal in the Dorsodoro sestieri an away from the mobs of tourists, this hotel has a distinctively neighborhood feel. In the evening, you can expect a nice gathering of locals hanging out at the corner gelato stand or down the street at a wine bar. The area is safe, authentic, quiet, and relaxing. The closet crossing over the Grand Canal is the Accademia bridge which is less than a 10 minute walk; to be precise it only took us 5 minutes. There's a great assortment of neighborhood restaurants and enotecas all within a 10 minute walk. Room - We had the presidential suite on the first floor (2nd floor in USA) and it was beyond spacious for the 3 of us. Richly appointed furnishings as you'd expect for Venice, comfortable bed, painted ceilings, an a large bathroom with separate tub and shower. There is only ONE bathroom in the room. Walking in the room felt like being in a museum. A remarkable experience and felt like you were sleeping in a grand palace...of course with working air conditioning and modern conveniences. Hotel Services and Personnel - The front desk staff were an absolute pleasure to work with an always greeted us with a smile and salutations. The breakfast was ample and always tasty. The two guys working the breakfast run were always available an attentive. Food quality were great and choices plentiful. All around a very good setup and we took advantage of it every morning. We also took advantage of the complimentary Murano tour which was very nice. The hotel also offered a private Grand Canal tour, for a fee, which we also utilized and it was beyond fantastic. The hotel arranged for our transportation from the airport on arrival as well as our transportation to Trieste for a cruise. Overall - We were all extremely pleased with our stay, with the room, with the staff, and with the hotel. An absolute great group of people and made our stay in Venice truly memorable. Thank you so much!…
Amazing! When we arrived we were informed that we had a free upgrade to a junior suite. I have been traveling the world for 50 years and this was the best room I have ever stayed in. The hotel offered all kinds of tours. The staff was kind and very knowledgeable. Also convenient. The hotel was a short walk to a vaporetto stop, which made navigation very easy. Can’t miss!
Beautiful setting and very nice coffee and snacks. We were staying in a different hotel, but next time will definitely come here, and were passing by and felt like having a coffee. The hotel from what we saw, is beautiful, spotless and with excellent service. Coffee and biscuits were delicious. Hope to visit again and this time we will stay.
This was a great little hotel within walking distance of two vaparetto stops: Zattere and Academia. About a 15min walk to St. Mark's Piazza and a lovely little area surrounded the hotel. Many places around for food and drink. The room was so beautiful, particularly the bathroom. Shower was enormous and the mini bar was tucked away in a little cove. Breakfast was good and service was great.
This hotel is very well located, with good access to the main tourist areas (10 mins walk to St Marks Sq) and convenient transport links but enough out of the way to escape the noisy crowds. The staff are very friendly and helpful, adaptable to requests and possess good knowledge of local restaurants, etc. We chose the standard double room, which was well-equipped, well-decorated, spacious and clean; this also reflects the quality of the communal areas across the hotel. In particular, we loved the modern twist on the authentic Venetian style. Whilst the breakfast does not necessarily offer the widest selection, the quality of what is served is very high, with new cakes and pastries served daily; the delicious cappuccinos and fresh strawberries were a particular highlight. Unfortunately, on our final morning at the hotel, we were woken in bed by water cascading through the ceiling, which eventually reached the local power-supply cutting off some of the room's electricity. We informed reception of the event when we went down for breakfast and they duly inspected the room and assured us that it was safe despite the small power cut. They apologised and offered us another room but, as we were departing that same morning, it wouldn't have been worth changing. We were slightly disappointed that the hotel didn't make an apologetic gesture, even if merely symbolic, particularly as this interrupted our Valentine's Day morning and the final morning of our long weekend in Venice. For us, this was the only difference between a very good and a perfect stay (and the difference between four and five-stars). That said, we would stay again and, hopefully, next time we will be able to award the five-stars that the hotel deserves.…
Stayed for 5 nights in a superior room (102) the size of the room is great, decoration, cleanliness, quality of the staff. To sum up: Amazing! We really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this hotel. Value for money is there. Helpful staff from breakfast team to reception and housekeepers thank you for making our stay unforgettable. This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and the hotel is so clean. It is a minute walk from the water taxi stop and there are plenty of good restaurants and little bars beside the hotel.
Excellent hotel, beautiful decor, comfy and well equipped rooms, lovely staff, great breakfast. Great location, access to St Marks area via bridge was excellent. Probably best location in Venice for quality (non touristy) restaurants, good bars and shopping. Wine bars next to hotel do great Spritz and wine plus tapas, so good, and great price.
