Firstly a big shout out to the receptionist Alex who was most helpful, and 10/10 for location. Unfortunatly the standard of the room did not meet minimal expectations, the bed was very hard and one of two pillows like sleeping on a brick.... It was that bad I used clothing and did away with it, the TV did not work, toilet seat broken and you could not have a shower without flooding the bathroom due to eh dodgy shower screen... wod of had a bath instead but no plug! Location wise you are out the door straight into the square and can't be more than 50 metres from the Basillica, but beware of the noise staying so close.
really appalling room with towels that smelled bad, covers over the sheets that have probably not been washed and truly the worst service I have ever experienced in a hotel. the room was full of mosquitos that we had to chase around with a towel so we could get some sleep, or lack of as the mattress of the bed is of really cheap quality. which also meant that at no point could we open the windows to get some fresh air and air out the room.we asked for a second key and the very rude guy at reception took more than 24 hours to get it to us. he also told us that we had to pay 10 euros as a deposit and by the next day he had forgotten how much he had asked and told us it was 5. Rude, obnoxious and complete lack of service. so overpriced for this really low budget hotel that tries to pass as 3 star…
Ten years ago my husband and I were married in Venice. It was a wonderful magical time. We have visited since but never stayed in the centre. We had looked and planned but with the Covid pandemic we thought our trip would be cancelled as several flights were and so accommodation bookings fell through but after days of research my husband found Best Windows, and truly it is something else. I cannot describe the view from the windows as other than breathtaking and magical, the view literally brought me to tears, you are looking directly onto St Marks Square one of the most famous romantic views in all of the world. The room is spacious with traditional style furniture we had the Casanova room 701 lots of traditional pictures and 2 large full windows with a stunning view of course onto St Marks Square. If modern fixtures and fittings are your thing then this room is not for you it is old school Italian which was perfect for us. You can see across to the Basilica and the waters edge, continually throughout the day and right into the evening we could hear the orchestra in the cafes below as the music drifted up to our room. We could also hear the bells from the Bell Tower and the bells above on the Clock Tower, these go right on through the night so a warning you may need ear plugs but we found it a small price to pay for our stunning location. We had this wonderful room for 5 nights it was an ideal base to visit and explore all Venice has to offer but yet central and also an ideal spot to pop back and refresh ourselves before heading out again in the evening, it also had a jacuzzi bath!! This is a very private spot in the sense that you can come and go as you please but if you need anything the sister Hotel Panada (where you collect your key from) is on hand and only a couple of minutes away. We asked for a kettle and instantly it was there, also we requested a late check out and it was arranged, the reception team especially Paulo were very helpful and very cheerful and went out of their way to ensure we had our perfect room with a view. The cost per night is quite eye watering especially on a Fri and Sat but with the restrictions on travel from some countries we fell lucky and had our dream location at a reasonable price. We found it was nice just to get lost in the back streets of Venice and the further away from the centre the cheaper the prices became we even on a couple of occasions bought snacks for lunch and had them in our room whilst sitting on the small balcony and watching the world go by we felt like we were movie stars in own our film. As other reviews have said I felt like a princess and so very special, the views are magical day and night and the memories we have of seeing St Marks Square in the moon light will last a lifetime. My husband says that this was the best holiday he has ever had, there were so many highlights from seeing the sun rise and St Marks being bathed in the sunlight at 6am to the sun setting and even one night when it was thundering and lightening at 4am the whole square was illuminated. We even danced in St Marks to the music from the orchestra!!! If your looking for a truly romantic magical stay in Venice this is THE place to be don't hesitate we will be back as soon as we can.…
good view of the extraordinary proximity to the market all the rooms are not as good as shown in the photos the upper floor is much more modest, the rooms are smaller and they also have considerably smaller windows, while in the first floor there are even balconies,
Has the old world charm you expect in Venice and the view of San Marco Square is unbeatable. We left our windows open for hours listening to the bands in the square play while enjoying a spa and a lie-down. We ended up in this room by chance and got it at a great rate because of that. The Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Typically this would be too classy for me, but it was a lovely treat and I do not regret spending that bit extra. It is lovely! but I am not sure I can say it is 'Value' at the full rate though.
