From the first greetings to leaving this was a wonderful experience. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location couldn't have been better. The room was very comfortable and a good value. The breakfast was very nice with many choices

The hotel itself is charming. And in a great location. the A/C was ICY! We loved that. The staff was a little, off putting. And then the manager tacked on a 3 Euro "hotel" tax per person per night that could only be paid in cash. Hmm. Now where do we think that went?

On our 3rd night out of 4 and have to say this is a great hotel to stay to see Venice, good room, we have a king suite over looking the square. A bit difficult to find but you do get to see parts of the city you wouldn't get to normally . More than happy we booked this good...

This little hotel is a very tiny little place to stay in the middle of Venice. I can recommend this hotel, because I prefer little hotels instead of big tourist hotels. This hotel offers the best location, near the Rialto bridge ( only 3-4 mins of walk). You have the choice of two breakfast styles: Continental breakfast in room which...

If there was an option between average and very good....I might go for that. This little hotel is very close to the Rialto bridge. The directions they sent us to find it were spot on (you'd be struggling without them). There are 2 flights of stairs to reception, and then possibly more stairs to your room. There's no lift, as...

Glad I picked this hotel. Five minutes from the Rialto Bridge and six minutes from St. Marks. A bit difficult to find, but look at the pictures. The pink building is the hotel. Entrance down the top left passageway and then directly right under the arch. Second door on the right is the entrance. Breakfast good and plentiful. Rooms clean...

Best part is the location. Easy to get anywhere in Venice. We ended up walking to all sides of Venice within 30-45 minutes either way. Hotel is easy to find when following map. Hotel was clean and staff was very nice. Only complaint would be how loud it can be in the room. You can hear them cleaning other rooms...

This hotel is fantastic - a real little gem! We had a beautiful room and the hotel is located really central - just minutes from Rialto Bridge and St. Marks Square! The staff are so friendly and helpful too, about a week before we visited we recieved an email from the hotel with a map attached to help find the...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
