Hotel was tricky to find but map/directions that they sent to me were perfect. Small hotel in good central Venice location. Room was huge! Small breakfast nook, armoire, 2 night stands, loveseat, and 2 small balconies. Bathroom was a little tight but seemed to be the norm in Italy.

Pros: Location, Staff, Refrigerator, Wi-Fi & Price Cons: Bathroom shower size and lack of lighting over the sink and mirror. Difficult to find the first time (But that is fun of Vencie, so it is hard for it to be a con just something to be aware of) Half the fun of Venice is getting lost and exploring the small...

We stayed for 4 nights and had a room facing the square. The staff was excellent, the rooms nicely furnished and clean. Close to everything you could want to see and do in Venice as well as a number of lovely restaurants and bars! Save yourself the worry about finding the Inn and find Fabio the porter at the Rialto...

My husband and I just stayed for 2 nights at the Ca'Bragadin Carabba. The location is excellent as all the major attractions are within walking distance. Also the way from the Rialto station short which is important when you are coming with heavy bags going up and down the small steps of Venice. The personnel has been friendly and helpful....

This charming hotel is brilliantly located, less than 5 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge and about 8 minutes to St Marks. We downloaded the video to a smartphone, got the Alilaguna boat to the Rialto Bridge from the airport and then followed the instructions on the video. It was very easy to find. The entrance is by buzzer through...

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very nice manager. Our room was not ready, so we headed out for a stroll. Came back and our room was now ready and we went to our room and were pleased with everything. The next day is when things went bad. The front desk person was very rude, would not let me...

The rooms are charming and staff cordial. The front entrance is located on a small dark alley. At night people pass by and the voices echo even with the windows closed. There is not lift so they helped us with our luggage. No grand entrance. You will need to buzz in and you enter into a quiet dim entryway. You...

My wife and I spent 4 nights here and found it a very pleasant hotel, We had a superior double room which was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful. Only minor complaints - the heating hadn't been put on yet in late October and the room tended to be a bit too cold, and you...

We loved our stay at Ca' Bragadin. The staff was very helpful and had great recommendations for restaurants, tours and concerts. Our room was very nice - especially the private terrace where we had breakfast each morning! Central location - easy to get to St. Mark's and Rialto Bridge.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
