Our stay at the Ruzzini was perfect. The rooms were absolutely fabulous, breakfast was wonderful and the staff, expecially the front desk and Reno, were incredibly accommodating. Reno seemed to be on duty 24/7 and always with a cheerful demeanor. The location was superb and it was so convenient to be able to arrive and depart directly from the hotel to the water taxi.
Wonderful room, wonderful staff, great breakfast- just perfect! The location on Campo Santa Maria Formosa was ideal to reach the Rialto and San Marco areas but also to explore the more quiet corners in Castello.
I have honestly written over 100 reviews on TripAdvisor as guides for travelers and suggestions on improvement for the businesses reviewed. I notice that if Ruzzini Palace is given less than five stars, the management responds negatively and defensively to the reviewer rather than thanking them for feedback. I only give a five star review to those properties that exceed my expectations and provide excellent not just adequate hospitality. Overall review is 3 and a half to 4 stars. The Great: Lovely Historic Property and Location. Loved our private water taxi plus Prosecco tour of Venice. Ease of check-in. The Good: Helpful front desk staff that gave good recommendations for dining and helped with directions. The Not So Good: We got the ground floor room next to the desk. My travel agent booked the room and since we booked our trip only a month ago, perhaps it was the only room available or this is the price point the agency arranged with the hotel. I’m not blaming the hotel, but warning travelers that they might want to book this hotel directly. The Strange: Required to leave hotel key at desk every time we left room. I understand the problem of lost key replacement, but it is inconvenient to stand in line to get your room key if the desk staff is helping other customers. At check-in we were told breakfast was served from 7:15 until 10, but then they wanted us to tell them the specific time we would be having breakfast. I’m on vacation and don’t like having a required meal time, not knowing when exactly I will be awakening. This has never been asked at any hotel and I’ve stayed in hotels on every continent except Antarctica.…
We stayed two nights at this hotel, following a cruise. The (private) water taxi took us right to the door, which was so convenient. The front of the hotel opens up on to a lovely piazza, from which St Mark’s Square is only a few minutes walk away, so it is in a very central and convenient location. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay there again when we next visit Venice. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed this hotel. Stayed in the "Spiderman room" much to my husband's pleasant surprise. Totaly recommended splurging on a private water taxi, take it all in and be dropped at the canal entrance. Venice is beautiful and the location of this hotel is great. Very central to Rialto and San Marco. I love that we had a fridge and were able to open the windows and shutters to the square below. My one note is to pay attention to whether or not Continental breakfast is included in your rate bc if not, it is kinda expensive and not worth it.
This place is a perfect spot to stay in Venice for first timers or return visitors. The charm and history of the Ruzzini Palace is fantastic and access by canal or walking is easy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. This is especially cool for Spider-Man fans as one of the filming locations in Far from Home is right outside!
The hotel was very comfortable and more importantly the staff are friendly and welcoming. The position is excellent and easy to walk around and explore Venice. A water taxi is the best way to arrive and from there walking is easy.
We stayed 2 nights at the Ruzzini Palace and it was excellent. The junior suite was large and well maintained. The location is perfect. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Two things to improve: a) breakfast should be included in all rates; and b) the quality of the bathroom products and towels is poor. Apart from that highly recommended
The hotel is in a superb location and our room was great. We loved the canal views. We also enjoyed the airport transfers and it was brilliant to arrive by boat. Not only is the hotel fantastic but above all the staff on the front desk could not have been more friendly and helpful. Thanks
We stayed at Ruzzini palace for two nights after a 7 day cruise. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and well appointed. We had 3 people and had a room with a pull out couch. It was still very spacious with the couch made up and very quiet and dark. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Venice. You won’t be disappointed!
