Stayed for two nights in a family group of 8, and hired two apartments at the San Theodore Palace. By reading previous reviews we knew the check in was via the Hotel Ai Reali Di Venezia, which worked superbly as we arrived by water taxi from the airport, using the canal entrance to the hotel. We were greeted by extremely helpful hotel staff, who after checking us in took us to the apartments, a short walk from the Ai Reali. The apartments are entered from a very small lane, and then using the lifts and stairs within the building. This is a bit quirky, due to the apartments being serviced by one of two staircases. However the apartments were both great, with the two bedroom apartment being exceptionally spacious! Best thing is their location, just behind the Rialto Bridge, so it is a great base for walking everywhere.

An ideal location only a few minutes walk away from the Rialto Bridge our apartment was in a block not far from Hotel Ai Reali. We went there first to check in and get our key. We had a fabulous welcome from a front of house person and were given a map, some very helpful information and that was very much appreciated. We were helped with our bags to our apartment, settled in and shown where things were. It was a great way to have an additional bed without the cost of an extra hotel room. We were impressed with the lovely European styling of the apartment and excellent facilities - a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave. Our bins were emptied each day, we were there for 3 nights and felt safe, secure.

Location is unbeatable for a spacious apartment with very comfortable rooms and bedding in a very quiet corner of a very busy area in Venice. Excellent value for money considering prices in Venice...!

Recently spent 3 nights in a two bedroom, two bath apartment. We checked in at the Ai Real hotel where the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful (like we were staying at their hotel). My wife and two teens had this large apartment that was clean and tastefully decorated. The apartment is centrally located near the Realto Bridge so you are a 7 minute walk to San Marco plaza. Many restaurants and shops nearby, grocery store and ATM around corner. We loved walking to our private, quite apartment at the end of the day and we felt like we lived in luxury in Venice. Price for having two rooms/baths lower than a hotel! We would stay here again next time in Venice and can see staying here for a week.

I had 4 rooms booked for May 31. However our flight was cancelled by the airlines and we weren’t able to keep our reservation. The hotel would not consider any reimbursement. Very disappointed in the results. I do understand cancellation policies but in this circumstance some leniency would have been nice. They did offer me 15% off my next visit to Venice. This trip was a once in a lifetime trip.

After reading other reviewers I decided to take the plunge and stay in The San Teodoro apartments rather than the main hotel, Ai Reali, or the Splendid. Venice was our last 2 night stop on a 10 day Italian holiday that started with 3 nights in Rome with 4 nights in Florence following. After staying in luxury hotels in the prior 2 cities, I decided to finish with an apartment and more space for my wife and 2 kids (daughter 15 and son 12). I would highly recommend spending the money on a taxi and being dropped at the Ai Reali. Although it is in the literature to tell the taxi to take your there, I also mentioned the San Teodoro to him and he dropped us at the Ponte di Realto and finding both the main hotel, let alone the San Teodoro while dragging luggage around a crowded Venice is not ideal. Once we found the main hotel, the staff was welcoming but as mentioned in other reviews it was mediocre at best following check in. I, unfortunately, had the sense that we were "2nd class citizens" and not guests of the hotel. Be aware the San Teodoro are apartments and is located off the main drag on a small side street that is nondescript building. The very big plus is that they are large and after getting used to the decor we settled in to our 2 bedroom with relative ease. The shower is small and the other bathroom only has a bath but there was a nice little kitchen and a we were left great care packages each evening that were included with our reservation - sandwiches, yogurts, waters, fruit, etc. There was also a nice little balcony that allowed us to look down upon the streets that was neat. The TV had no English stations which was odd because the other cities did and when we called the front desk (from a small phone down the public hallway near the elevator) they didn't seem to know why. The front desk also wouldn't allow the bellman to assist with getting our bags back to the hotel upon check-out and that is after they booked our water taxi to the airport and tacked on a few extra dollars for themselves. Net net, it was adjustment coming from more luxurious places but that was on me. I would recommend this place because it was a 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of Venice and reasonable given the size and location. Just manage your expectations and understand that you are not going to be in a hotel with all of those amenities.

Firstly the photos look great and when you walk in it looks great. Very central and the hotel you go to to check in are very helpful but that’s where it ends! It is dirty and examples are; We had blood stains on our main bed sheets which supposedly were clean! When we told them about it they said do you want us to change them? Ah yeah what!!!!! There was a smell in the drains that made the place smell like fish yes fish and not fresh fish!!! Two bathrooms one which is a bath not shower as the handle to use is way down on the bath so don’t know how you wash yourself and hold it when it tries to go back in it’s holder. The second shower and you will see in the photos which are flattering is absolutely tiny I am not a big person and I could barely turn in it!!! But the biggest issue was there is a boiler in a cupboard that is locked and goes all day and all night with short stops and sound like a car with a sports exhaust not a nice sounding one starting up and then turning off with a rev!!! If you sleep light this is not the apartment for you. This is not stated on any website associated or third party with the hotel!!!! So beware. Also you pay 40 euros for the room to be cleaned after your stay and blood stains on sheets and almonds on the floor in the family area doesn’t to me seem to be a cleaned environment. When I confronted them with the issues they suddenly either couldn’t speak English or just shrugged there shoulders. Service obviously only extended to the introduction. Oh and had to wait 15 mins when arriving as our host had gone for a walk! I usually find something nice to say about hotels or restaurants but this apartment at $600 a night is such an overpriced terrible place to stay that I can’t find anything.

Just round the corner from the Rialto bridge, it's a great Central location in Venice. Also handy there is a DeSpar supermarket very close when you just want some wine and snacks after too much lunch. Apartment is very clean and well provisioned for a short stay, but not enough kitchen equipment for serious cooking. (But you don't come to Venice for that..). Check in was extremely easy, at the Ai Reali hotel, with direct canal access, so you could take a water taxi direct to there from the airport. Also can leave your bags there if you check out before you need to leave Venice. Again, water taxi from there was extremely convenient. (€123 each way, but for 6 people, so I think good value and well worth it)

The apartment has nice furniture, big spaces for two families and it is located in the heart of Venice, right next to Rialto Bridge and five minutes walk to San Marco Square. Probably the best solution if you don’t want to stay at the hotel.

One block from the Rialto Bridge. We took a water taxi directly from the airport to the Rialto stop. Then an easy walk to the apartment. The only inconvenience was having to go to el riale hotel to get the key, but the staff at the hotel was great and a porter came back with me to assist us. (I had let the family wait at San teodoro while I got him.). It was about a two minute walk. We stayed for four days and got our bearings in Venice very quickly. San Marco is very easy to get to as is everything in Venice. Would definitely stay here again.
