Enjoy your stay in Padua!
Visitors to Padua have a choice. Go to the south end and stay at a middling place aiming at tourists/pilgrims or go north, outside the walls, to the new area with soul-less hotels like NH or Best Western. There is not much else. InChoistro is a guest house (or a Bed & Breakfast), very centrally located, on a quiet side street off Via Cesare Battista (quiet is important -- this is a university town with many students out late at night). My room was large, and decorated in a beautiful period style of carved dark wood. The bathroom was modern, with beige tiles a stunning sink and a very large shower. The wifi was great (there is no TV or radio). There where ample outlets to charge my 2 mobile phones and laptop overnight without removing a lamp's plug. The breakfast room was a few steps away in another building. Albertino truly aims to please and once he has figured out what you want, it is there. For me that meant a beautifully arranged plate of freshly cut fruit, yogurt, breads, and cappuccino. He is happy to cook a breakfast. This is not a B&B where the owner leaves at a certain hour. Albertino does not hover, but you know that he is there and available if you have a request.…
We really enjoyed our stay here in beautiful Padua. Situated only 5 or 10 minutes from the Ponte Romano tram stop and a 10-minute or less walk to main town, 20 minutes from Scrovegni, this b & b is in a lovely old family home. The rooms are simple and aesthetically pleasing: the bathroom is very modern. In-room safe. The simple amenities include basics, but we missed certain things -- bedside lamp, more varied toiletries, Kleenex in room, clock -- once asked, Albertino immediately provided what we needed. Rooms are large, very quiet, spotless. Albertino is a cultured, reserved host who engages at the level his guests require - he is very knowledgeable, very interested in his guests, and is genuinely interested in providing what you need. That is evident in his breakfasts - he asks what you want and you get it, in our case top quality meats and fruit, plus pastries from a world competition- winner pastry chef We were served the best bresola, proscuitto, salami. Everything is top quality, including his restaurant recommendations. We appreciated the fact that Albertino was not pushing anything, but when we asked, he responded with right-on recommendations. He also reduced the room price on the one day he could not provide breakfast. Without knowing, we had booked in a neighborhood with excellent restaurants and trattorias and we never had to go out of the neighborhood to find a great meal. Ground floor, no stairs, cash only (typical of b and b's - just go to the nearby cash machine). We loved Padua and stayed for 6 nights and used Padua as a base to visit nearby towns ( Vincenza, Venice, Verona, Treviso all very close and accessible by inexpensive, frequently running trains), and of course we would come again and stay with Albertino.…
InChiostro is in the perfect location in Padova. Just a quick walk from a main street where you can pick up a bus and just another block or so to the main group of piazzas around piazza delle erbe. It's centrally located on a quiet street. Albert is the perfect host and as soon as we arrived greeted us by name and inquired about our plans and how he could help. I'm glad he had transportation recommendations because it saved us a lot of hassle taking the bus to the Venice airport instead of the train as originally planed. He was very helpful and even was up with breakfast ready despite a very early departure. Our room was clean and appointed with cool antique (yet still functional) furniture. Even though I'm sure there were others there when we were, it was very quiet and almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. The breakfast room is beautiful and Albert is conscientious about making a beautiful presentation. There was also a good wifi connection (free) which can be important when travelling.…
we recently enjoyed a very pleasant stay at InChiostro in late April. it is situated about a 10 minute walk from the tram tracks down a side street in a quiet neighbourhood. we stayed in the Alvise room which is at the front of the house. it was quiet, clean and well appointed. Albertino is a pleasant and reserved host with an eye for detail. he served us the most amazing exceptional breakfasts on our entire month long trip to Italy. thank you Albertino !! bicycles are available and we enjoyed our bike ride to the amazing Capella Degli Scrovegni. a highly recommended B&B experience.
A small B+B with only 3 rooms, which are very nicely decorated with old furniture. The bathroom, though, was newly renovated with modern appliances. The owner is very freindly and helpful, with many good tips what to see, what to do and where to go for dinner. The location is perfect, in the middle of the city so that you can reach all attractions by foot. Parking is a problem, but also that was solved easily because the owner reserved the only available parking always for us. Good breakfast in a romantic setting, with fresh fruit and even parma ham. Should we come to Padova again we will definitely stay here once more.
