There is no many option on breakfast, only two or three options are available every day The price of the hotel compared to rooms is very expensive You could hair all noises around the hotel which you could not sleep after 8am
Got back in June and having to work in the area I opted for ME Milan. Hotel services, despite all covid restrictions, did not disappoint us. This time our room was on one of the top floors and with a city view. Nice and relatively quiet. We did not use many facilities as spending time in Milan on a rushed business schedule, but the room service was ok. Not outstanding, but sufficient. I believe it's mostly due to shortage of personnel or current covid issues. Would get back, although Milan is showing a vibrant hotel market with lots of newcomers and very competitive.
We are very familiar with the Hotel and were looking forward to going back ... no more. The front desk (a kid named Simone) was, to say the least, rude and unprofessional. To start with he argued impolitely with my wife on the identity document she was providing ... no question one has to respect the law, but there are very professional ways to ask for the right document, not " what the hell did you travel with?". We had lots of suitcases and i asked politely if i could get a bigger room (i know the various options very well) paying the difference of course, and the snap answer was "we are fully booked and in any case i would have to charge you over Euro 500, which i am sure it's too much for ..." he stopped there, lucky him! He never spent a minute to explain the quirky elevator system ... thank God we were familiar, and proceed to attend younger guest, i am sure to his "liking". I then had to "deal" with SImone again as the towel and water for the gym are at the front desk(?!?) ... I flet like i was asking for money! Despite the cost, there is no turned down or refreshing service; the reason: Covid! We just spent 11 days at the Rome Cavalieri where they would refresh my room three times a day if i wanted too! The next day , the room was not refurbished witht he typical maneities; we had to ask ... and there were very few amenities to start with ... the reason? Covid, of course! Ditto for the Concierge servie on Saturday which re-appeared miracoudly on Monday (during the main Salone del Mobile" event). All of that for an advertized cost of the room of Euro 570 ... we did paid with points ... maybe that is the reason behind the treatment?!? We gladly left before chekout ... and, by the way, at 12 noon on Monday the front desk sounded like a disco place, with a bunch of kids "helping you" (thank God for the beel boys, the only excellent expereience). Maybe i should come back in another life and in younger age, single, and with a different "orientation" ... shame on you Melia!…
We absolutely loved ME Milan Il Duca. The reception staff was incredible, especially Daniele. We had a fantastic stay there and the room and the hotel in general were super clean. It felt very 'covid safe'. The pancakes at breakfast were superb and I really like the hotel scent as you come in. The hotel is very central, about 10 min walk from the central stations and there are several chemists at walking distance as well as a Unisalus centre nearby where you can do your 'fit to travel' covid test before you leave.
We just stayed here overnight and I wish we could of stayed longer. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Hotel is beautiful and clean. Food is delicious. Location is also super convenient, near sites and train. Rooms are modern, quiet and comfortable. Looking forward to returning
