Hotel Star in Milano was a pleasant surprise with the old saying don't judge the book by it's cover.
Just a few minutes walking from the Duomo Arcade which seems to be the centre of all shopping if you are it to brands.
We recently stayed at Hotel Star for two nights to visit La Scala and a day of sight-seeing. We found the room (streetside) to be adequate for our needs over short period. It was modern, clean and comfortable, although the myriad of lighting options can...More
We have stayed here before and for the price it is a great hotel in a perfect location. The hotel is located in Central Milan just off Via Broletto and very near Via Dante one of the many shopping streets in Milan. You can walk...More
The Hotel Star is in a great location to walk to all the main sites of central Milan (Duomo, Last Supper, Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II). The staff at the front desk were amazing and helpful! I traveled with friends who were very happy with their...More
I can't say a bad word about this place. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Maria Vittoria. The room was lovely, clean, very modern with a great sauna shower, and black out blinds. It was a little noisy with a tram line very...More
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the
view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Linate is closer and you can take the bus #73 from airport that drops you off on Via Dante right near the San Bablia metro stop. You can walk to Hotel Star from there, probably a 15 minute walk dragging suitcases, 10 mins without. Or take metro 2 stops. Don't know about cab, since bus was so cheap.
