Melia Milano is so tailored to your needs that it may deserve an entirely different name: yours!
Located in the most dynamic and fastest growing district of Milan, near the EXPO 2015 pavilions, the district of CityLife, the brand new area of Porta Vittoria to which AC Milan moved its legendary museum, LG, Vittoria Assicurazioni and many other international companies, next to Lotto underground station and 10 minutes from MiCo Congress Centre and San Siro Stadium, the Melia Milano is proud to present its newly renovated hotel designed with only you in mind: the brand new THE LEVEL Lounge, the largest in Europe with services including private check-in & check-out, private breakfast and afternoon cocktails; 56 brand new THE LEVEL rooms & suites with exclusive services and amenities; the brand new Jigger Food & Cocktail Bar where fresh Mediterranean cuisine is combined with an exclusive selection of premium drinks and signature cocktails; a brand new plenary room for up to 520 delegates.
The Melia Milano has reinvented everything. Or almost everything. There is one thing it does not want to change: its characteristic personalized customer service and care.
They have powdered instant coffee in the rooms. I really could stop there. This is Italy, after all. Even the Marriott has a coffee maker. The hotel is nice enough, if you can figure out the obtuse lighting panels on either side of the bed. I kept turning out the bathroom light while my wife was in there. And none of the lights have actual switches. You have to figure out the touch screens that say things like "day" and "master" and "night." Most places, when there is an issue with water pressure, it is because there is too little. It is the opposite here. Every time I turned on the faucet in the bathroom sink, it hit the bottom of the sink so hard and plentiful that it would splash all over my pants, shirt, the floor, and the sink. The bidet is no different, only it shoots across the bathroom. The restaurant is good but on Friday night it was like a third grade fire drill, in the dark, with the doors locked. The servers were like too put-upon and confused and would tell you so, as you waited ten minutes to be seated, or when you ordered your beer and watched the bartender then serve four people who came in later, only because he forgot you and your order. There is no parking. You are on your own in that regard, thought he website says "parking nearby." There is a pay lot up the street. But really, you are on your own. I liked the front desk staff, though. They are helpful and pleasant. And the lobby is beautiful. Oh, and there is no bureau in the room. If you are here for a week and bring your clothes, you have to keep them in the suitcase. Many hotels are like that now and it is not good. …
What a amazing experience in a very special place! If you are planning a trip to Milan please don’t think twice and book this hotel! I travel often and don’t always feel the need to write reviews but this place deserves the recognition! Researching Milan on a first time visit we almost did not book this hotel thinking it was “too Americanized “ or too far from the center. None of this is true. It’s a 5 minute car ride $8 and they have a courtesy car. I am so happy that we chose this hotel. First our flight was delayed. We called the hotel and our driver was there within 20 minutes! Then from the moment we arrived we had nothing but excellent experiences with every single staff member of this hotel. Martina and Elizabetta checked us in and escorted us to our room. They gave us many recommendations and explained all the features of the room like the panel on the wall for the lights and climate. Also as a Meliá member you have wonderful amenities such as an item of clothes steamed every day and a bottle of champagne in the room on arrival. We also had a cocktail experience on the rooftop bar which was excellent! The Bartender even came over to check if we liked the drink and made us specific cocktails to our liking after asking us some questions ! Breakfast was excellent on the rooftop it included pastries , eggs . A variety of cheeses and hams and of course delicious cappuccinos and Nutella cornettos! There was also a courtesy car to take you from the hotel to the square and the duomo! In the rain the driver even pulled close to the awning so we wouldn’t get wet. Antony the concierge was great! Very patient and gave us many recommendations for good meals. He made many calls for us since it was ferragosto the time in August where most places in Italy are closed. All in all this is a no brainer. I am so happy we stayed there and it made our first Milan experience an incredible one! Thank you to this wonderful establishment that made us feel welcome and safe! I can’t wait to return to the Me Milan!…
Went for 2 nights in October The staff and size of the rooms are great! The price of the rooms are very attractive !! But the furniture and decorations are completely outdated!! Also the location is and place that their is nothing to do in walking distance . Wouldn’t repeat the hotel.
The rooms are a bit worn looking and beware that in a cold snap there is no heat until later months so the rooms can be chilly! The restaurant and bar are nice and the gym is descent. The staff is friendly but again they couldn’t do anything to warm our room which made showering and getting dressed uncomfortable!
Huge disappointment. I traveled with my family (two adults and three kids (7, 4 and 3 years old) and booked the big triple family room and requested an additional bed. Hotel kids policy said that kids under 12 placed the room for free used existing bed. So in accordance with hotel policy, the room with place for four adults can fit all our family. But hotel staff did not provide me with the booked room and force me to pay double price for two big rooms. The head office should pay more attention to fraudulent activities of the staff of Melia Milano. I highly do not recommend to stay at this hotel with family and small kids. I am experienced traveler and it was the fist such experience out of huge number of hotels around the world. The worst attitude to family with kids, not costumer oriented, not family oriented, not kids oriented hotel.…
Hotel to avoid : during check-in do not accept a pre-authorization with your credit card because payment at check-out will not cancel this pre-authorization and this amount of money will therefore be blocked for several weeks on your credit card. Contacted several times, Mélia Milano did nothing at all to cancel this pre-authorization when all they had to do was contact Wordline or the hotel's bank. They will just deny the problem and misinterpret the document I gave them or what Wordline told me on the phone. And I imagine that if Melia Milano responds to my "Trpadvisor" review, they will still just deny the problem. Service absolutely not worthy of a five star hotel !
My sister and I travelled here for a weekend in August to celebrate my 30th birthday. The hotel is right next to lotto metro station and the metro is very easy to navigate. Although outside of the centre, the travel into the centre is so easy due to close location to metro. You can also easily get an Uber or taxi. The hotel itself was gorgeous inside and modern. We were checked in by Carlotta who was very friendly and helpful. After a few cocktails in the bar (recommend the cosmos!) we went back to the room where there was a note asking to ring reception, we had been upgraded due to our celebrations! Was a very thoughtful and lovely surprise and really topped the weekend. Lots of local shops were closed due to it being Italian holiday season but as you get closer to the centre (Duomo) everything was open. The room itself was clean, modern & had everything you need. Very happy with the service and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely weekend 😊…
Because we had such a great experience with Melia Madrid and the level, we booked the Ambassador suite in the Melia Milano. It was a huge disappointment. On the surface and in the pictures the suit looked great. Upon arrival, we discovered dirty floors, full of dust, hairs not ours in the bathroom, smelly toilet, burnt bulbs, broken lamp – all this joy for the modest price of 550E per night. We asked the room to be cleaned – so they graciously wiped the flour and wipe the dust on the surfaces. Enclosed is the picture of how it looked the day we left – although we specifically asked to clean under the beds. At night I was suffocating from all the dust, so we tried to open the door to the balcony for air – a big mistake. There is a vent which throws smells of frying to the balcony plus we were attacked by hordes of mosquitos. We wanted to leave but didn’t have the energy to start looking for a new hotel. Add to this dark rooms. Not enough lighting – no reading lamps. The hotel maintenance people were doing their best to help us so they gave us a standing lamp. I had to carry it from socket to socket if I wanted to sit and read on the couch in the room. Whoever designed the suit had Zero thought about the people that supposed to stay in the room. There is no noise proof in the rooms. The level – breakfast worst then the general breakfast. They have no separate kitchen on the level. The cheese and ham omelet I ordered the first morning was disgusting – swimming, literally, in oil, one big uneatable lump of cheese, one slice of ham – not cut, cold in uncooked watery eggs. We stopped eating eggs for the rest of the stay. The weekend cook was better. At the general breakfast – they give you the feeling they want you out as soon as possible – the waiters take your food plates before you finished to eat. Once they dump my bread on the salad and took the plate the bread was on. On the morning we were supposed to leave – we ordered through the hotel a taxi to the Airport. The driver didn’t show up. The lady in the reception was apathic to the situation. I asked her to call the taxi company, she did – they told her they will call back, they didn’t…I had to ask her again to call them- they told her to order a taxi from a different company. She did. We could have been sitting there until this day, waiting… No apology. The hotel ruined our experience in Milano. At the end of long days traveling and exploring the city you come to the hotel for rest – we didn’t sleep well and didn’t enjoy fully our stay. The only shining light in this hotel was Alissa the client relations person, she really tried her best to make our stay more pleasant. Her and the maintenance guy that tried his best to give a good service.…
Reception - with Joaquin and Pamela. Great service and they were very accommodating to our needs, Room very clean and spacious. Bar - young folks that are very attentive and nice. We ate at the restaurant . We had a nice baked fish with a delicious sauce.
Unless you have business at the MiCo exhibition nearby, or you get an exceptional rate, this would not be the area to stay in. The hotel is quite 1980’s in look and feel although it has been renovated. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Service in the bar was also friendly but slow. Breakfast buffet is target good.
