Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very convenient location - a stone's throw from Centrale station and walkable to Duomo etc. Room was big enough and pleasant, clean, bed not uncomfy. The noise from outdoors was quite loud but to be expected from such a central location. My only complaint was that it was very cold and the heater wasn't very effective and so loud - but couldn't really do without it. However, staff were polite and it was good value overall.

This hotel cane to my rescue, albeit at 150 Euro per night sans breakfast after AV Hotel Milano decided to cancel ny booking. Hotel Garda is an easy walk from the railway station. There is a Metro entrance close by. Tram routes are close while Mercato Centrale with numerous dining options is in the station but on the other side. While the shutters did not lower all the way, meaning light and on the first night street noise was evident. The Queen bed had a top sheet instead of a hot doona. Great. There was a minibar with only a bottle of water, good WiFi, an elderly heater/aircon, a hairdryer and kettle with tea and coffee. Lighting was extremely good as was the shower. Shampoo, body wash and liquid soap were supplied. The main towel was huge. Special thanks to afternoon clerk Alessandro. A good hotel. Book in advance for cheaper rates.

I don’t need much from a hotel; cleanliness, all equipment working and helpful staff is all I ask. When the staff goes above and beyond like at Hotel Garda, that’s when I give 5 stars! Every single person was genuinely friendly and very helpful. My wife and I felt like true guests, not just customers, even though we only had an economy room. The hotel offers a convenient breakfast and is located very close to all the transportation hubs we used. But again, it’s the outstanding staff that makes Hotel Garda the best place to stay in Milan!

When I read some of the reviews, I was a bit worried, but Hotel Garda was just fantastic for us. The staff were so kind and helpful. The room itself felt new, clean and modern, with a comfy bed and a beautiful big window. All the modern furniahing such as TV ans aircon, and was perfectly situated for rhe train station, restauramts, and about a half hour walk to the Duomo and Castello Sforzesco. It was just what we needed after a long day travelling, and such excellent value for what we got. We couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

Clean comfortable hotel right up the street from the train station on a quieter street. Good water pressure and shower, functional lift. A fairly decent stay, but main feature is the proximity to the train. Disliked · High priced for the value, but may be just because we booked last minute after deciding to shorten our previous destination.

This Hotel is very old and dated, and is not very clean. They wanted $378 for one night. As soon as we walked into our room and saw wallpaper peeling off the wall, a strong “paint type” smell and lots of dirt along the edges of the wall, we were disgusted and returned to the front desk for a refund charge back and we went elsewhere. This Hotel does not look like their photos at all. Extremely dated.

Me and friends went to Milan from Rome for a weekend break, we were four and we took two rooms. The receptionist in the morning was not very friendly and had to remind us over and over again to always leave the key when we go out of the hotel, which was not a request but sounds like an instruction. Obviously we can speak good italian as we live in Rome for more than 5 years, we tried to converse in italian. No smile whatsoever from this reception guy. But thats fine. We were requested of our personal ID and we gave them our docs. Thought all was OK. 2nd night and we got a loud knocking on our door, around 3a.m.! I had to jump off my bed and see who was it, it was the POLICE and we were woken up to be asked for documents while we already submitted them thru check in. We had spoken to them and no REASON was said why we were randomly checked. Take note, we had the long staying permit in italy and legally living and working here. Never ever been checked! To think they can easily just search our names in the system and without the unnecessary check! So at the end they had MISTAKEN us and was looking for another person. I mean, the receptionist could have given them the correct room number, right???? WHAT A HASSLE! it was not a very pleasant stay. The hotel staff could have called us on the phone and we could have went downstairs instead of being woken up like random criminals. I DONT RECOMMEND Staying in this place. YOU ARE BETTER OFF ELSEWHERE.

The experience at the Garda hotel was horrible, I stayed for 7 days, just before leaving I had a dental emergency and from the same hotel they arranged an appointment for me at a nearby clinic, when we returned they had broken the 4 combinations of our suitcases, stealing money and personal objects, they even took the trouble to leave everything perfectly accommodated as it was. They entered our room, they took all the time in the world to rob us, the owners of the hotel did not want to admit the theft, disassociating themselves from any type of responsibility. When making the police report we found other affected people, at least 3 were robbed in the period that we were staying, the security of the hotel is null, there are no surveillance cameras and the locks of the rooms are very easy to open, as the own owner admitted. The worst experience of my trip to Italy. I place one star because it does not allow me less. AWFUL!!

Do not trust this hotel reservations!!! I have booked this hotel 4-5 months before the trip to the Trade fair for a very reasonable price. When the hotel found out that there will be this trade fair, and prices will go high, they have cancelled my booking two days before the trip!!! Stating to booking.com it was impossible to pre-authorise my card which is valid and I made a booking with it at the same day elsewhere! After 5 minutes I have got a notice about the cancellation, I have called the reception and they told they are fully booked and my room is taken. Prices at the moment were ~3times higher than at the time I booked this room. Also they were able to charge for a cancellation of the second booked room two days ago, so the card was really working and they knew this. Definitely do not recommend this hotel.

Responded 20 Sept 2022
you are a liar and a dishonest. as per contract on all resale sites the cancellation policy is 3 days before your arrival. we checked the card 3 days before and we sent the report several times, but you never replied, coincidentally you only contacted us when you received the cancellation. We are a respected hotel that has been running for more than 100 years, we do not tolerate superficial people accusing us of such slander.
