I spent 5 nights at the Hotel Auriga just 2 weeks ago, doing a series of day trips from Milan. The Auriga is very near the central train station: the Stazione Centrale, and also a subway station by the same name ("Centrale"). The Hop On Hop Off buses stop in front of the train station and there is an airport... More

The Auriga is a nice friendly hotel just a few minutes walk from the Central railway station and Metro. Airport bus's also stop close to the station. I have stayed here many times on business. The Auriga is close to many restaurant's and only a few stops on the Metro from the Piazza del Duomo. The rooms are functional and... More

We flew into Milan and spent one night at the Auriga. It is a moment from the front of Milano Centrale, which is fully visible from the front step of Auriga. An excellent choice for the area. The room was clean, large, and well stocked. There was a safe and tv but, oddly, no clock. An elevator can take you... More

I was only staying one night and chose the Auriga based on its location near the main train station in Milan. I had spent my working week in Italy and this was the third hotel. I found the Auriga traditional and clean, haven't seen wickerwork chairs in a bar in years! Staff are helpful but not in a 'over the... More

Sometimes it's easier to get the train. Fast train from Rome to Milan. Walked out of the station and you could see the hotel. Good advice from front desk saw us purchase a 3day metro pass for Milan, and we used it to easily access the centre of the city the Duomo. Very easy to understand and use. Hotel had... More

Many hotels near railway stations can be rather dingy.... This is not. Just across from the main station this hotel was very good value for money, clean and spacious room and very helpful reception staff who advised us on the best things to see during our very short stay in Milan.

The location is good - thats everything positive i have to say about this place. Thr bathroom is awful, its smelly and there is no hot water. There is no pressure other than gravity in the shower. I complained and they said its supposed to be like that.

We stayed here 3 nights and loved it. The service and hospitality was fantastic. As it was my birthday my wife arranged surprise wine and chocolates with the front desk. Breakfast was quite nice and typically European. The room was comfortable and although there was only one pillow each, the staff quickly arranged more upon request. Would definitely stay here... We stayed at this hotel primarily for its proximity to Milan Centrale train station. as you exit the station you can see the hotel about 100 meters away. Rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. Stall is very attentive recommended an excellent restaurant nearby and assisted with a taxi to the airport.

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
