Recently we spent 3 nights at the Echo. Even though our stay was pleasant, I was not too thrilled about it. Rooms are fairly small but clean and modern, and not too noisy. That is apart from the keys, that generate annoying beeps if you don't plug them in fast enough. Basically, everything is in order but in my view there are no upside surprises.
There is virtually no room to park and unload your verhicle. Once you managed that, you are to bring your suitcases to your room yourself as there is no concierge (which you would expect at a 4 star hotel). The hotel offers valet parking, but I would not recommend. You do not receive a copy of the intake form, and I have never seen any release form. My mirrors didn't function properly anymore, probably because they were folded with too much force.
Breakfast wasn't brilliant either. My main doubt is that you need to order a lot with staff (not just eggs, but also bread and other basics), and can not use the buffet fully yourself.
Location well....of course in any large town the station area will not be too brilliant, and the Milano station is for sure not that bad either, but still the main station square is not always inviting. Albeit the subway has two stops here, it is a bit further from the center.
So no postives? Yes, there are positives. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely decorated on the ground floor, and price - quality is balanced. And of course the hotel is very ecologically aware.
But for me the experience wasn't positive enough to return at a future stay in Milano.

We have been staying at the E.c.ho for just one night, but everything was perfect.
Since the arrival we have been warmly welcomed and accommodated in a perfectly sanitised room, due to COVID-19 regulation.
We had been enjoying our stay and the quality of the sleep was amazing. The breakfast was a surprise and perfectly served even though the restriction in place.

We stayed two separate nights on our way to and from Florence. In our 10 days of traveling, this hotel had the best air conditioning. The room we stayed in was basic, but comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. We were doing two separate stop-overs in our commute, so the easy walk to the train station and the nicely stocked mini-bar, which was very reasonably priced, were appreciated. The Duomo is about 2.5 miles from the hotel, and the neighborhood is a little sketch in my opinion. The hotel's restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast, and the staff service was superb. They helped us arrange a cab and made sure we got to the airport on time.

The hotel is well situated - nearby the central station, with comfortable modern rooms. However, the breakfast was really poor, after 8 am there was no bread, juices or sweets. When we asked the personnel about it, they said they were run out of it. Breakfast was served from 7 am to 10.00 am so there should have been planned for it. This was very disappointing as we booked the hotel with breakfast included and we could barely have breakfast any day.

It's the average corporate hotel experience. It was chosen for its proximity to the station. Rooms were fine - neither great nor terrible. The metro obviously runs under the property and it was surprising how much it could be heard and even felt on floor 2. As long time Londoners, who could hear The Tube in several of the houses we've lived in, didn't bother us.
What was beautiful, was proper air conditioning. This was the 7th night and third country of our train holiday, all in the intense heatwave, and previous hotels had been sorely lacking in proper AC. Was quiet as well as powerful. I loved the fact that even when I took the card out of the power slot on leaving the room, the AC stayed on. So it was always beautifully cool on return. This is the sole reason I gave 4 instead of 3 stars.
Wide choice at breakfast, but quality not the best. Fruit juices were very lo-rent indeed. Tasted a bit synthetic.
Location for Milano Centrale can't be beat (though it's a pedestrian obstacle course with heavy cases to get the very short distance). Close to M2 Metro. We spent the 2 evenings in Navigli and it was a breeze to get there and back. Neighbourhoods adjoining main stations tend to be a bit sketchy, but this was fine. Very friendly locals' bar just down the road - happy for us to get a nightcap even though they were just closing.

Even 2 nights before our arrival, I had an email saying "just to confirm the details of your stay......" in which the details were incorrect. The prior email from them had confirmed the correct details. Needless to say, hot and flustered on arrival, they had it wrong at the desk. I showed them emails, she made a phone call and all was sorted.

Having arrived from Varenna by train, we alighted at Central Station, walked around the corner and across the road into a well appointed, modern, quiet and clean hotel. Our check in was quick, our room was ready early, so we were able to drop off our luggage and return to the station to catch the yellow line Metro into the Duomo (just four stops). There are several restaurants/bars nearby, as well as those on offer within the Station.
Our room was very comfortable and quiet, a bar fridge, air conditioning and a lovely large bathroom. One thing we were particularly impressed with is the pillow menu. For the first time in four weeks of travel on foir countries, we have firm pillows suited to neck issues.
We depart from Malpensa Airport, so again, proximity to Central Station is important. Having said all that, I'm not sure it's a safe area after 9pm.

The hotel is extremely well located. Don't worry about its proximity to the Centrale station. Milan Central and the surrounding area are nowhere as dodgy as Gare du Nord station of Paris or London Euston. Not chic but felt perfectly safe walking around, even late in the evening.
I caught the airport shuttle form Linate and the hotel is just five minutes stroll from the bus stop and the train station. M2 whisks you to the Duomo area, saving us the walk in scorching sun.
Check in/check out were smooth and quick. Staff were uniformly courteous. We had dinner one night at the hotel restaurant. We are vegetarians and had no problem in finding decent dishes. The server was very friendly. Prices not too bad for Milan.
Next day we ate at the Merkato centrale which is inside the station and has lots of eating options.
We had booked three rooms. The corner room was definitely smaller than the the two other rooms, and it was just about fine for two people with two bags. The middle room was very spacious and also had large mirror which was missing in the corner room. The room sizes are what you'd expect from a corporate chain hotel in a European city.

Lift : didn't have to wait. The downstairs lounge area is really lovely to sprawl and relax with lots of natural light and glass.
Overall, a good value for money and is highly recommended for a short stay in Milan.

Great eco friendly hotel in a great location - very close to the train station and only a short metro ride to the Duomo and all other sights. Didn’t feel unsafe at any point and weren’t bothered by noise however we requested a higher up room so stayed on the 6th floor. Hotel felt luxurious but business-like, friendly staff, nice toiletries, would stay here again.

I have no idea. I am sure that if they have an event it will be stated on their website. As the food of the hotel was just ok, I personally would see if there was something happening elsewhere in town, and rather attend that for New Year's, but that's a personal preference. Hope you find what you are looking for for New Year's!
The train station is across the road it’s very easy access. Just use google maps on phone to make sure you exit at the correct entrance and hold onto your bags. Don’t use the ATM in the train station- my card was skimmed there!
