This is a nice belle époque hotel with lots of room for improvement. Food: hit and miss, burger was with industrial bread, tasteless, osso-buco was very nice. The spa area on tenth floor is nice. The free shuttle to Scala is hit and miss as one time the driver drove by super fast without even slowing down. Rooms are pretty and offer a beautiful quality of sleep, really. No welcome amenity in the room whatsoever, which was very surprising for a LHW…
Very classy hotel, nice lobby, attentive well educated and well mannered staff. The location is a bit off if you are planning to spend your day on the famous shopping areas. Rooms are clean and spacious with some signs of aging, but nothing disturbing.poor spa area!
My stay was incredibly amazing . All my specials requests were filled to the perfection . The staff was very professional especially the concierge service , thanks to Alexandre !! The only thing is , for a palace linked to such a brand as Dorchester collection; it is so pity that most of the member staff don’t speaks English , which force us to speaks Italian or “trying” . At the beginning I said “Ok it’s only one Housekeeper, it’s not that bad.. we’ll see until the end of the stay” , then we had the same problem at the Acanto during the breakfast , most of our waiters weren’t able to speaks English , the orders went wrong . But I decided to keep the positive points with me , such as the fact that my snacks in my suite were filled every time of the day , my spa treatment was amazing , the room service, the dinner at the Acanto was perfect . I had the opportunity to try twice in my life the meals from chef A. Buffolino (once in Roma at the Eden, and 2nd at the Principe di savoia). I’m about to be back soon for the Fashion week in Milano so , see you soon ! Thank you for everything. Eliane Lhopiteau…
This hotel was beautiful and well situated. We like to walk into town which was close and easy, but they also have a complimentary shuttle back and forth to town. The breakfast buffet was a “10+”. I took advantage of the hotel pool one night. It is on the top floor. It is not a warm and cozy hotel, it is a very professional and mannered environment.
Stayed at the Principe over New Years and it was a complete treat. First of all it is a lovely hotel ,Old world luxury, and the staff is first rate. I could go on and on about the hotel but will single out two individuals who impressed me the most. Lorenzo is a waiter in the bar there who went out of his way each night to serve us, even giving us a list of sights he recommended in Milan. Daniel, whom I suspect to be a manager there went out of his way on NYE to allow us to get a drink in the same bar despite the fact there was a big party that went off at Nine pm and to which we were not a part. Gracious, charming, and just made us very comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
My family stayed in this splendid hotel in Milan at the end of a trip. A perfect place for us weary travelers! Our two rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean. The balconies (two with the corner room!) gave us fine views of the city. Each morning we enjoyed delicious food from the breakfast buffet. Kudos to the staff for keeping this historic hotel in such beautiful shape.
If you think this hotel looks good in photos, it is actually more beautiful in person. I booked this hotel via American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts. Upon arriving, hotel staff explained clearly to me the benefits and provided a double upgrade. Though it is an old building, it was meticulously kept, and the room looked like it has just been renovated with a beautiful bathroom. Breakfast was nice with good selections. Staff were nice and service in general was excellent. The hotel is located in a quiet area which requires quite a walk to attractions such as Scala Theater or the Duomo. However, the hotel offers free shuttle service every 20 minutes during the day to those areas using a Mercedes-Benz van. Also, the metro station is right in front if you need to go around the city. It would be perfect if the complimentary Wi-Fi was faster. It was so slow that I had to turn it off and used my international data roaming instead.…
This is a beautiful hotel but expensive. It was part of our Tauck river cruise. The only complaint is my $27 Manhattan had a cheesy maraschino cherry. I hate to be a snob but Luxardo cherry or its equivalent is the only proper ones to use. I'm still whining to my friends about the sticker shock for the cocktail and cheaping out on the cherries.
Rhis hotel,is a gem. Why? The staff is incredibly friendly and the hotel is fantastic with its interior. My room was big and clean and simple and beautiful. But, if you want coffee machine you have to call for it, if you want tooth brush, you have to call for it. Everything is available but they are a phone call away. Of course I used the gym that is very well equipped and the views are great as well as the very new machines. The only thing is the music. Why there has to be music as every machine has a big tv screen and people are also using their own ipods. This hotel is situated appx 20 minutes walk from center with the shops and sights but hotel has a schuttle service. I had a room facing the front but: I think there is a medical center nearby as during the day I heard ambulance noise many times. But in overall I loved this hotel and its ambiance.…
Stayed in Hotel Principe Di Savoia for last leg of my holidays in Italy. Very glad I made the choice to stay in this hotel with heritage. 1) The Mosaic Room is beautiful and spacious, luxurious Acqua di Parma toiletries and bathroom and toilet are clean and bright. It also has a view of Piazza della Repubblica. 2) The breakfast room is grand and nice with wide choices of food. Thoroughly enjoyed the daily breakfast. 3) Staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. 4) Small gestures to make guests feel welcomed eg. complimentary snacks in the evening 5) When I mentioned that I was celebrated my aunt's birthday at the hotel, they even baked a cake for her and gave us a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate the occasion. A big thank you to the staff and management of Hotel Principe Di Savoia. …
