Shocking story. I am telling this to warn future clients to stay away from this hotel and their weird management. Read this funny story of a funny woman chasing us for Milan. What an Italian adventure! We checked in very late the night 28 November 2014 with 4 colleagues as we had an issue with our apartment booked on AirB&B...

We only stayed one night, wish we could have stayed longer. We were greeted by Douglas, and must say, this was our 16th night in Italy, and the first time someone carried our bags to our room for us. Douglas was great, and spoke perfect English. He recommended a close place for dinner that was amazing. We loved the little...

Really a 2.5 rating. This hotel is well located in a charming neighborhood and could be great. The rooms facing the street are spacious and light, with high ceilings. If the prices were half what they are, everything would be just fine. Or if the interiors were spruced up, the prices would seem more fair. However, the bathrooms are worn...

We enjoyed our three night stay. The staff were very welcoming. Our room was very pleasant and comfortable. Breakfast was served in the room and was very acceptable. The price was fairly expensive but Milan seems to be an expensive city so I guess it was good value by those standards. It is well located and I would happily recommend...

Ok location. Close to two parks and walking distance to main attractions. Close to train station and metro. nice hotel and friendly and attentative staff. Nice with breakfast in the room though it was a bit simple. Coffee and tea in the rooms. Nice and relatively large rooms, balconys in some rooms. Bathrooms were being upgraded when we were there....

We stayed at Antica Locanda Solferino for two nights in January. I suspect that most of the reviews of the hotel on this site, whilst they differ wildly in the scores given, are based on the same facts: this is an old-fashioned hotel, with old-fashioned rooms, and you pay at least in part for the atmosphere and the history -...

I don't normally stay in hotels like this, but it was a last minute business trip and there were a lot of rooms taken in Milan. However, that was my good fortune! ALS is small and intimate. The location is sensational, minutes away from La Scala and lots of great restaurants. My feelings towards the hotel is more in line...

One of the previous reviews stated that staying at this hotel was like stepping into the past. That could not have been more true. Douglas warmly greeted my colleague and I and settled us into our rooms. One immediately felt like this was their apartment in Milan. The furniture was authentic. The rooms were spotless. The overall decor was warm...

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
