Rich in atmosphere. Nicely restored and modernized old villa. Excellent service. Very friendly. A good place to stay when visiting Mantua, a most marvelous city with rich cultural heritage and nice restaurants as well.

We travelled from Bergamo to Mantova on our motorbike on a hot Saturday in July. The Residenza is a little hidden gem outside of the town...after a few wrong turns we found it and were not disappointed! A lovely old, cool building that as been really tastefully decorated! Our room was stunning. Breakfast was lovely with a vast variety array... More

No elevator. AC is switched off at a set time of year. If you happen to hit hot weather outside the season - good luck. Screens designed to keep insects out don't work, plenty of insects in the room. Breakfast fine. Friendly staff, and spacious rooms.

if I could mention something negative It can only be that we didn't want to leave. It was a pleasure to stay in this wonderfull apartment. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Andrea and his brother are doing a very good job.

About 2,5 km to large free P-place at the entrance of the bridge leading to the historical city. From there off nice walk (0,8 km) over the dam and bridge to the heart of the town. You can also take a free shuttle service to the medieval city centre at the palazzo Ducale.

We spent one night here in what must be the largest hotel/B&B room we have ever had. The Vergilio room on the main floor included AC, fridge, desk, chair, coffee maker, sofa, large luggage bench, excellent lighting, two large wardrobes with only 3 hangers (ding), and another small table near the bathroom. Plus an exercise machine! High ceilings made the... More

Though the location is a bit out of the way, with a car this property is perfect. Quiet, clean, delicious cooked regional breakfast eggs and homemade baked tortes and cakes made for exceptional start to the day.

Total pleasure to stay at Residenza La Villa. Rooms clean comfortable, full of character, as is the villa. And Anna produces magnificent dinners - not to be missed!! Secure parking. Everything one could need is on hand. And it's only a short drive into town.

Lovely place. Anna is great host. Breakfast delicious. Room clean and comfortable. Easy into town but a bit tedious to get back. Anna recommended several places to us for food and visits. All were excellent.

This is an impressive old building refurbished to a very high standard. Our room was spacious, stylish and comfortable and there was a good breakfast. The owner was helpful and friendly. The only downside is that this is not the easiest place to find being located in a nondescript suburb outside Mantua. This is reflected in the reasonable price. It... More

“Ground floor”

“When we left on our last day, most of the doors were left open to the other rooms on the second floor. This gave us a chance to look in and it made us feel sad. The other rooms were so much nicer compared to ours in terms of size and features. Our small room was on the second floor above the entrance. Avoid it at all costs and you may have a nicer stay. Also, check the air-conditioning when you arrive to make sure the room will be cool enough for you.”

“Every room is special, has a different name from famous personalities of the history of Mantova. Most of them are very large. Ours (named Rigoletto) was a little bit small, but it was on the back, so very quiet and with a peaceful view on green fields and trees.”
