My partner and I stayed here for 7 nights in May 2019 and we cannot recommend it highly enough! The apartment is located right in the heart of Stresa, on the Lakeside Front, adjacent to the Ferry point. It has STUNNING VIEWS from the rooms and has lovely balconies and huge opening windows. We stayed on the very first floor which had two short flights of stairs to the room. There is a second floor apartment and a third floor apartment which obviously have more steps to climb, so if you're not too agile, I would suggest the first floor. Upon arrival, we met the owner Rossana who was LOVELY!! You couldn't wish to meet a nicer person!! She goes out of her way to make you feel relaxed and her English language is perfect. The first-floor apartment has two good size rooms with great views over the lake. One has a TV and a couch, so we treated this as a lounge and chose to sleep in the other room because it had a balcony. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were a little flat (but we found additional pillows in one of the wardrobes). There was PLENTY of storage for clothes and there is a small iron in the bathroom (but no ironing board). There is also a hair-dryer in the bathroom. The apartment includes a lovely WELL EQUIPPED kitchen with a full size fridge and cooker and microwave. Lots of glasses, cups plates and bowls (and cutlery). There is a 4-seater dining table and another small table and chairs on the balcony. The central heating works superbly and there were NO extra charges for using it. The bathroom was compact but had a great shower. Halfway through the week, Rossana called to leave an unexpected Birthday Gift for my wife - a real nice touch and much appreciated! On the day of leaving, Rossana allowed us to leave our suitcases in the apartment while we killed some time in the town waiting for our transfer to Milan Airport. As I said, the apartment is very well located in the town and is close to all the shops and amenities. There is a lovely little square around the corner, full of restaurants, cafes, bars and tourist shops. The 3 islands closeby are lovely, but BY FAR, Isola Bella is the very best. Just amazingly beautiful!! Be sure to book the LAKE MAGGIORE EXPRESS excursion!!! Get your tickets from the Ferry Terminal in advance. It only runs on certain days, so check at the terminal as soon as you arrive so you can plan it. You basically (all with a single ticket) take the train from Stresa (around the corner) to Domodosolla, then onto a small guage train to Locarno in Switzerland and then the boat back to Stresa. It's a FABULOUS day if the weather is nice. Don't even hesitate doing it!! For photos, you can always look me up on Face Book (Tom McQuiggan) and look at our LAKE MAGGIORE ALBUM (it's public). We also went up to MOTTORONE in cable-cars and chair lift. Incredible views but it looks a bit "run down" up there. FAR BETTER was the trip to LAVERNO (via Intra) and up to the top of the mountain in a bucket!!! Yes, stood in a bucket! At the top it is BEAUTIFUL and there's a fabulous hotel, restaurant, cafe, bar and panoramic views. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS ONE!! Enjoy!

We enjoyed our stay in Rossana’s second floor, two bedroom apartment. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, and the views are very special. The main bedroom has a queen bed and the second bunk beds. There is a balcony accessible from both rooms and a small table and chairs where we watched the sunsets and sunrises! The location is great, just the by old town and the ferry terminal. It is a short (about 1km) stroll from the train station, although on departure Rossana kindly offered to drive us.

We have visited Stresa twice before staying in hotels which have been very nice. We actually noted apartment on our last visit and felt it was excellently located and it would be nice to have the freedom to choose where we ate etc. Rossanna the owner made us so welcome on arrival. Perfect apartment & we can't wait to return, hopefully again this year - BUT if we are unable we have already booked for NEXT YEAR!!
