After arriving on our first driving experience outside Australia ( picked a good country to try that lol ) we felt very welcomed here. Clean, comfortable room overlooking a nice garden.Good breakfast and a lovely setting. Dinner is a bit pricey but certainly convenient if you are over the 25 minute walk to town.Right near the ferry across to Isola Bella and the cable car We met people who have been coming here for 20 years , says something I guess.
Hi just got back from 7 nights stay here at this hotel which is in a great location to the cable cars/ferry port however it’s not actually in Stresa about 10minte walk away which was fine for us!! The hotel I must say is very basic and very dated the pictures on the website make it look a lot bigger than it actually is in regards to bedroom size and the indoor pool! The breakfast is not great no toast just bread and can’t even get your own hot drinks which is odd!! It’s hardly a restaurant more like a canteen if I’m honest and I didn’t find the staff that friendly at any stage or helpful in regards to giving you tips of where to go in Stresa!! The towels are so thin you can’t dry with them and no quilt just blanket!! You can hear through the walls next doors conversations and the shutters for the patio doors are so noisy they wake you up if someone next door is opening them!! I would say the maids were in everyday so the room was always clean with fresh towels no matter how thin haha!! All in all I must say I would not stay here again as I just like a bit more form a hotel but that could be just a personal choice…
Just returned from a week stay. Told reception and the travel company, Inghams, we were both veggies, we were extremely disappointed. Whilst the food was generally good, our dietary needs were not understood. How hard can that be in Italy ? Anyway our main meals were either salad, omelette and salad or quiche and salad. What's wrong with that, you might say ? Well, this wasn't a 'bargain break', other guests were served chicken, beef, steak etc., and we had to make do with salads. After speaking to the head waiter, we were told that ' the chef, although very good, didn't understand special diets.' Such a shame as this was a nice clean hotel.
The hotel is on the outskirts of Stresa at the Lido where the cable car to Motterone leaves from. It means a beautiful 15 to 20 minute stroll by the lakeside to the centre of Stresa. Perfect for a passegiata before or after dinner. The room was pleasantly spacious and clean with aircon. However, it didn't have a safe or a refrigerator which would have been appreciated. The indoor swimming pool and facilities were great and we enjoyed a dip each afternoon. The breakfast had a good selection ( boiled eggs incurred an extra charge though). The young waiter at breakfast was very attentive and courteous. The Hotel staff were efficient but not overly friendly. We made use of the free parking, although it was quite limited & required double parking, so they held a key so they could move cars around. Overall we had a lovely few days stay and would consider it for a future stay.…
Located by the lake shore within easy reach of ferries, cable car ride and the main town facilities. reception staff were helpful, good sized indoor pool, room was clean if a little small with balcony and view of the lake. Free parking for several vehicles on site was especially welcome. Over all a very pleasant hotel for short stays.
