We stoped over on the Lago Maggiore for 3 nights on our way to Liguria riviera. Nice hotel on the Main Street. Clean room but located on the street. We had to close all windows because of the noise from the street. Good breakfast for an Italian restaurant with great friendly service staff. 3 stars only because of the noisy street
The staff were very friendly all around. Reception staff we’re helpful and gave us a better room, restaurant staff also friendly. All spoke English fluently. Room very clean. Free parking for our car. Gorgeous breakfast. It’s not a modern design, but has a ‘70s feel about it (which we like). Highly recommended.
Hotel opened for the season the day we arrived but you wouldn’t have noticed. Staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful. View from room was superb. Location is good, easy car park. Breakfast did its job, evening meal was very nice. No issues at all would stay again
We visited Stresa in late October and booked Hotel Flora for 4 nights. Although it was a little further out from the centre of Stresa than we had realised, we were very happy with the hotel and the walk into town was very pleasant. Hotel Flora was super clean, lovely room, very pleasant staff and a nice bar area, so we liked all of that too. Breakfast was lovely but we had a problem with dinner! The problem that we encountered was not really the fault of the hotel, I suppose ... we were virtually the only guests apart from some German people who were on a coach tour. They had obviously agreed a Dinner Menu as part of a package and that was the only thing on offer to us, too, for the first 2 nights. It was very nice food, but we had expected an à la carte menu. However, on the second night we were informed that there would not be any dinner available on the next 2 evenings; the German party was leaving and, it seemed, we would be the only remaining guests. We decided to go elsewhere and, to be fair, Hotel Flora dealt very well with us and did not charge us for the 2 nights that we had booked and did not use. Would we go back there? Yes, but not at the end of October! …
There is a wonderful fountain on the lake promenade just across the street from the hotel. A pleasant and picturesque garden provides beautiful photo ops as you stroll along Lago Maggiorre. The island of Islo Bella is not far away.
