We did not stay in the hotel, only went for dinner but will not come back. The food is overpriced and felt ‘mass produced’ - the type and quality of food you would expect at an ‘all you can eat’ buffet. Staff was also not that friendly. They didn’t seem overly excited having us there. Choose a different place for dinner.
Family with two kids (6 and 2 yr old). 5 nights. In my view, value for money certainly the best option at the moment on the lake. This is why : - Stresa is a very attractive location on the lake. - the hotel is ideally located ON the lake and 5’ walk from the center (restaurants, etc) - hotel has been completely renovated with GREAT taste and sense of details. Lots of friends renovated their home over the years never to achieve the quality of the architect and contractor of La Palma have reached. - two pools (roof top) and opposite the road. Frankly, the big pool across the road that can accommodate ~ 80 persons is the master piece of the renovation. Lots of « beautiful people » without too much fuzz. - rooms : renovated. Simply great. - breakfast : great products. Does the trick for 5 nights without lassitude. - restaurant at the hotel ? Well like everyone you don’t want to eat dinner where you have breakfast ? Mistake, the food is absolutely exquisite although a bit more expensive than in town. Final remark : we had friends over for three days. All used to fancy hotels as business travelers. La Palma bluffed us. Enjoy your stay ! Question to the team of La Palma : what do you miss to get a fifth star ?…
Stayed at the hotel for four nights , it was a a great hotel , the staff were lovely and the rooms great. The views from the Sky bar are breathtaking so make it so enjoyable to sit and enjoy a drink or two there
We attended the Sky Bar for a few early evening drinks with another couple having visited 5 years prior. It's till absolutely beautiful, 360 degree views of Lake Maggiore and a long list of delicious drinks to enjoy with Aperitivo. Staff were friendly and accommodating, prices similar to any City Sky Bar. Would highly recommend for a special occasion (try to book if possible).
The hotel is really nice, modern, bright and with great staff at reception and in the restaurant. The location and the view from the lake view rooms are amazing. Just two negative points to mention: the prices in the sky bar are way too high, 16 € for a cocktail is just over the top. Also the handeling of the breakfast during corona is not optimal. It makes people wait way too long when the staff has to prepare a plate for every guest at the buffet. Might have been better to stay with an a la carte breakfast.
