The name says it all, a stunning traditional hotel with a huge well decorated and comfortable reception area. Rooms were good, clean and ours had a wonderful view across the lake. The free wi-fi was much better than you often get in hotels. Only downside was the restaurant which had poor staff and appalling food. I suspect that this may... More

Stayed for 3nights as part of a business trip. Service was great throughout the day. Breakfast, coffee, lunch all great. Hotel itself is very fancy as are rooms. Bedroom was small, bathroom big. Had a great view of the lake. Really fantastic location.

If you like grand hotels with a view this hotel will impress with its early 20th century style although a little marred by the fact that it has become mainly a group hotel . The reception were efficient and helpful, the room was beautifully appointed with a fabulous view of the lake. The swimming pool (indoor) was rather clinical and... More

Difficult to fault this Hotel and the location. Beautifully maintained, friendly staff at reception.Lovely grounds. Obviously large enough to cater for conferences and large group tours so restaurants geared up to supporting this style on mass catering. But the main dinner was served and presented in a timely manner. Good spread of Breakfast options Shame we only had a short... More

We stayed in this beautiful hotel last month and would highly recommend it. It was a really good experience, we had a super room with a lake view, very comfortable bed, good free wi fi connection, great food and amazing surroundings, both outside the hotel and inside!

We spent five nights here and easily visited throughout the region. There are excellent restaurants in the downtown area but as we had a lot of rain several among our group opted to eat in the hotel bar. It appeared that the majority of guests here were part of either a tour group or a convention/meeting. I would think that... More

Large grand hotel situated a short walk from the main town of Stresa. Beautiful views across the lake from the restaurant and, if you had one, one of the lake view rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful, most spoke good English. We had a room in the annexe, not so grand. Very small with little storage or put down places.... More

We had a room at the back of the hotel, described in the brochure as "mountain views". Well, yes, I guess so, also overlooking the delivery bay. But frankly it would not have been worth the money to upgrade to a room at the front or side of the hotel because we spent so little time in the room itself.... More

Hotel was very pretty and the rooms were nice but felt like we were the poor cousins. We came with a tour group so I guess you get the "un-reserved rooms" but our rooms overlooked the back lot which had a "staff area" so there was a bit of noise. One room had a nice balcony but the 2nd room... More
