The hotel's location is wonderful: we were able to arrive late after most of the tourists had left and had the island to ourselves to explore after a glass of wine in one of the waterfront cafes. The island is small, but has simply stunning views across the lake - to the other islands and the shore. The hotel itself...

We personally enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and relatively comfortable (the mattress was a little firm for our taste!). We enjoyed the lovely views, peacefullness esp. in the evening and early morning/ The breakfast buffet was very nice and although dinners were a little expensive we enjoyed the two dinners we had on site. Staff were very helpful.

Spent two days during Easter WE on Fisher Island (Isola dei Pescatori). Because we booked a triple, we ended up in the Annex, actually an old house right on the lake with a few rooms on each floor. We actually had a small apartment of two rooms with a bathroom, a nice balcony and no TV (no problem). Breakfast in...

We stayed here for 1 night in a Double room last September. We were concerned, given the potential for the hotel & the island to be nothing more than a tourist trap, that we might be very disappointed. But in fact it turned out to be quite enjoyable. The hotel overall is in pretty good condition. Our room was on...

The verbano is an amzing hotel on a small island on the lago maggiore. Although the room could be refurnished, the hotel is very cosy and charming. Clearly the best place to take the lady for a wee-end. The food is good although the breakfast is not outstanding (but fair enough). On the first floor, the rooms benefit from a...

We stayed at Verbano at the suggestion of a friend and I have to concur with her opinion - it is one of the most romantic places I've ever stayed. Not because the rooms were so luxurious -- they were comfortable and cozy but nothing special. Not because the food was so outstanding, although we found it very good --...

What an exquisite experience! One of the guide books said that Isola Pescatori is "impossibly picturesque", and they were correct. Hotel Verbano (www.hotelverbano.it) is the picture of a gracious Italian country inn: friendly helpful staff who were very forgiving of our inability to speak very much Italian, very nice room with beautiful views of Lake Maggiore and the Italian Alps,...

A very nice stay on an island. The hotel staff was extremely courteous and even went out of there way to pick me up late at night when I arrived behind schedule. My room was clean and room service was efficient. The setting is not quite as idyllic as the hotel's website may have you believe as the island is...

What could be more romantic than a night spent on Isola dei Pescatori, one of the mythic Borromean Islands on Lake Maggiore? Turns out even a night at the Holiday Inn in Newark could have trumped it. It started well. We left the car in the garage of the modern Dino Hotel for a mere seven euros per night and...

The hotel is nice enough, but the food was horrible. Also, make sure that you are booked in the hotel itself, not in there other location (shared with the staff) since this location was very noisy and not as nice.
