La Locanda is a small and quiet hotel, recently restoredand runned by the host family welcoming you in this placesituated by the Lido of Stresa. Close to the hotel, in the Lido area, you may find the cableway to the Mottarone mountain (1500mt.) and public or private boats to Borromée isles. The train station is 200mt. far whereas the village centre is reachable by walking by the lake-side in a few minutes.

A very clean well run family hotel. Rooms a good size and ours had a balcony and picnic table and chairs. Generous European breakfast. Coffee available over most of the day and evening at very fair extra costs. Good wifi. Good on site parking at small extra cost, although access requires some care as it is via a quite narrow street. The manager Danielle was very helpful in providing guidance on things to do and restaurants etc. He also spoke reasonable English which we found valuable. The location is close to the station and Lido area, and an easy 700 or 800m walk from the heart of town. Overall an excellent value hotel in a town where summer parking is at a premium.

Highly recommend for families as the place is clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. My family and I enjoyed breakfast which had a range of offerings as well as the bar which was open all day and evening for drinks. Location was excellent—close to promenade and only 10-15 minutes walk into town. Excellent value for money overall!

What a fantastic little hotel. It was perfect for us. Friendly staff, a great location (just a lovely and short walk to the centre via the promenade and all the old grand hotels), superb breakfast (the best croissants we have ever had) and just a great experience overall. We couldn't fault it and loved it. Would definitely recommend and would return again if in the area. Give it a go - you'll love it!

The hotel was well furnished with antique furniture. The room was quite small but perfectly adequate with a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. Shower bit of a squeeze for large people but worked fine. The breakfast of lovely croissants, breads, jams, cake, fruit and yoghurt was included in the very reasonable price. It is a bit of a trek into town (20 mins)and the nearest bar/restaurant is about an 8 minute walk away at the Lido. We did find the atmosphere a bit oppressive though as the staff, although pleasant, do not engage with guests at all. However, it is a good budget option.

From : Feroza and Meher Chinoy La Locanda is a very good B&B place for the price. Strategic & conveniently located which is important for tourists to get around; impportant locations within walking distance. Rooms / bathroom very comfortable and clean as was rest of the place. Breakfast - sumptuous & wholesome. Daniele did his best to meet ALL our needs. He is thoughtful, helpful and kind. Courteous and professional staff. We were sorry to leave. Our best wishes to Daniele and his staff. If we know of anyone visiting Stresa & looking for a B&B we will recommend La Locanda ! Feroza & Meher Chinoy, Mumbai, India.

Hotel La Locanda was the perfect end of our little family toad trip before our final drive to Zurich airport. It’s a sweet, cozy family-run hotel on a hidden alley of a street just a few minutes walking distance from the center of pretty Stresa. The lakeside promenade was just around the corner for easy strolls and the ferry lines to the various islands equally close in the other direction. Our 4-year old and us slept very comfortably in our cozy light-filled room. Breakfast offered a variety of options with coffee, fruit, fresh croissants, jam and yogurt to help us start the day. The palatial hotels of Stresa are beautiful to look at but La Locanda is the place for me :)

The hotel was very clean and tidy. Our nicely furnished room was rather big but the bathroom was quite small, especially the shower cubicle. The shower worked well. The location of the hotel was good for us. It is on a small quiet street about one kilometer from Stresa city center and about 500 meters from Carciano Lido where one can take the boat to the islands and other villages or the funicular to Mottarone mountain. The railway station is also only about 500 meters away. It was easy to get out of the city, and back, also by motorbike. We appreciated the parking possibility, and the spacious balcony. For us, this was the first hotel where they would not provide an extra roll of toilet paper, only one each day. We stayed eight nights and the Italian sweet breakfast began to taste a bit boring. Especially as gluten-free bread (requested in advance) was only served the first four mornings, and then only crackers and rusk/zwieback - in addition to a sachet of corn flakes and a muffin. Non-special diet included croissant and rolls as well as cake and pie. In addition there was yoghurt, jam, butter and fruits, and beverages of course, but no cheese, cold cuts or eggs. Also, almost everything (butter, jam, honey...) was individually packaged which is not that environmentally friendly. The double bed was a bit like a trampoline and the bed legs were loose. …

What a gem on the outskirts of the main tourist area, so lovely and quiet. Two star hotel with five star service. Everywhere spotlessly clean, good sized room with small balcony and air con (room 15). Freshly baked croissant (divine), cereals, rolls, jams, lemon cake and marmalade tart with ample fresh fruit for breakfast. Hotel is family owned and their aim is to please. Location is perfect - 10 min walk from railway station (for fantastic Lake Maggiore Express trip to Switzerland, back by boat), 5 mins from cable car (a trip not to be missed) and 5 mins from local boats trips to islands. About 15 mins stroll from main centre, along the lake and past all the big old hotels to reach the town centre where there are plenty of restaurants, the main boat dock, and all the shops. After your evening out you can have a night cap in the bar before making your way to your room to sleep in your very comfy bed. All in all a real gem.…

A wonderful family run hotel. Well appointed and fantastically clean rooms with balconies and very comfortable beds. Helpful managers and staff. In a quiet area just off the main road 15 to 20 minutes walk to town centre along the water-front - we enjoyed this walk particularly after a meal in town this but some people might prefer to be nearer to town. Close to the station and the Carciano ferry terminal and cable car station. Alibus from Malpensa airport stop nearby. The continental breakfasts are good and the coffee machine amazing. At the end of May/start of June the weather was about perfect - not too hot or too cold and just a little rain.

If you want to taste the real Italian hospitality you should definitely come here. La Locanda hotel is placed very close to the central part of the town, however, it is slightly hidden from the main roads. It’s really great as it allows everyone to enjoy some quiet time especially in the evening. Hotel is extremely clean and well organised. The service is charming and very helpful:) and breakfasts are absolutely delicious - I loved the coffee machine and crispy croissants:)
