#8 of 15 hotels in Baveno
Our hotel is a typical villa with a large Italian garden, balconies, terraces and a direct access to the Lake through our little private beach. For over 40 years our family-run hotel has offered our guests tranquillity and unique views of the Borromean Islands.

Since some of the other reviews are very comprehensive, I'll just mention a few points. The rooms are excellent, but because the hotel used to be a villa, there is no elevator. The breakfast was fine and the owners (two brothers) are very hospitable. The only negatives are the slow wifi and the difficulty of seeing the oncoming traffic when leaving the car park. We would certainly stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The owners were so hospitable! A few things to note and some responses to other reviews: Location The hotel is on the other side of the street, across from the lake. It is right above the road and below the train tracks. It’s not the hotels fault obviously. There is little to no sidewalk on the narrow road (again not the fault of the hotel). This is the same in many areas along this road. The hotel is somewhat located between Baveno and Stresa train station. We walked from Baveno, which was approximately 1.6 km (20-25 min walk). A beautiful and doable walk, but we happened to visit during a heatwave. Otherwise, I’d recommend taking a taxi. Accommodation We had a room for two with a beautiful view of the lake. Bathroom was modern. Room was clean with fast WiFi. Beds a little soft, but I’ve for sure stayed in worse. There was no air conditioning in the room, there was an overhead fan which did make a difference...but again, we came during a heatwave (+35 C/95 F) and a fan didn’t help much at this point. The owners were very kind and generous and lent us the two old German bikes, no gears. The bikes have not been maintained, so if you aren’t already an avid city biker, you might have some difficulty as the wheels are not aligned. There is also no bike lane on the street. Either way, the bikes were still better and faster than walking. There’s an old cat that lives at the hotel. He was very friendly. Breakfast There is no lunch/dinner option, but guests can access the breakfast buffet. We were offered an array of jams, cereal, some bread, yogurt, deli meats, juice and the choice of coffee. They also gave everyone a fresh cornetto. We would love to stay here again, naturally when it’s about 10-15 degrees cooler. 🙂

We were very friendly and warmly welcomed by the staff who also helped us in booking restaurants and activities during our stay. The rooms are way larger than those in nearby properties. Last but not least, the view of the lake at sunrise is just mesmerising!

We stopped here for 1 night. Very welcoming and helpful owner. Clean room and typical Italian breakfast. The Hotel has its own car park directly opposite. Stressa and Bavena are close but the road without a pavement outside the hotel means taking the car. We would definately stay again. The manager booked a dinner table for us on the Island opposite and they even picked us up in front of the hotel. Super!

This is my experience there: Very dangerous steps to the lake. An ambulance was after my husband slipped (few days before another person slipped, but not sign). No lunch or dinner facilities. Dangerous road, especially when you get out from the car park. Nobody helped us after the episode, I was very scared and I didn't feel supported. Not the right B&B if you like comforts.

The day you came for the check-in and the next one, I looked from your face and your enthusiasm, that the hotel and the place liked you very much, were all smiling and satisfied! Then it happened ... what would never have happened .. and please believe me it never happened before in 60 years of activity .. a slippage on the lake algae, ruined with a headbust. In reality I was very anxious about your husband, I personally called 112 after giving you water and ice for the head. Unfortunately, the incident happened, but fortunately it only resolved with a fright, as your husband was already well the next day. honestly, I never thought to putting a warning sign because: 1st) there is a handrail to get to the lake, where to cling; 2nd) who go down to the water does it slowly paying attention, 3rd) This summer the lake was particularly low, but, the level of water and algae can change within in a few days of rain .. The reaction to the criticisms towards our Hotel is only motivated by your husband's slippage ...If this did not happen, you would have leave our Hotel with good memories
