It is a beautiful house in a beautiful location. The owner and his wife are the most kind and friendly people we met in our 4 week holiday. Our camper van broke and we had to find a place to stay. We were the luckiest people in the world that we found this place. We had problem with fixing the van and the owner handled the problem like it was his problem. We are forever grateful for his warm hearted contribution. We enjoyed visiting the town center and eating there. Also the place has a nice pool where we liked to relax. We didn't go hiking but the trail that went up near the place looked awesome. If we ever come back to northern Italy we will definitely go back to B&B Montebello.
Our b&b was nice. Location quite near the train station and the shore line, just 25 min walk. Quiet and clean place, with pool and, if you like, view to the lake. Some language issues with our host's, since we didn't manage Italian that we'll.
We visited for a week and had a wonderful stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Our room was clean, spacious and well appointed with air conditioning and a balcony overlooking the pool and a good view of the lake. Breakfast was good with bread, cakes, fruit, yoghurt, cheese and cereals. Tea, coffee and fruit juice also. Communal table was good fun and we had a good chat with guests from all parts of Europe and a family of Americans. Pool was well maintained with sunbeds in a nice garden. Free parking and security was good too. Only downside was the distance from the town centre, but that wasn't a deal-breaker. Fully recommend a stay here.
I booked the room and paid up front, (through booking.com) as it was just what we was looking for, then several weeks later asked for more money for the room. All the decent hotels are booked up for summer now. Thanks for ruining my holiday, kids are crying, cheers.
Great view, one minute drive to city center(5 by walk),very quiet, polite staff, swimming pool with magnificent city view, forest nearby.Thirty minutes drive from Orio al Serio-Bergamo airport, very close to Switzerland s Ticino canton,Milano is about a 45 minutes to an hour drive,Monza and the famous Autodromo Nazionale is a half hour drive, big outlets and shopping centers are abound in the greater Lecco area, the lake itself is a minute drive from the hotel,i definitely recommend it.
It is a very clean B&B with scenic views. The proprietor was friendly and helpful. The property was secured day and night by an electronic gate and it offered ample parking for people with own transport. However, breakfast offered a poor selection of items. In addition, there was only one large communal table, which proved to be somewhat stressful if you happen to be either a reserved person or not a morning one. Also, a car is a MUST. Or else it's trekking up and down a quarter of a mountain twice every day. It's located quite some distance from all types of amenities, so without a car, it proved to be a hassle to go uphill with some food and a large bottle of water. Public transport didn't pass nearby.
The surroundings are stunning, host was friendly & funny guy, pool area was nice altough it wasn't opened at 10 but at 12 (so I guess that's why we were allowed to swim in it all day despite the rules). The location is a bit tricky if you are not travelling by car & you could really need air conditioning since it was almost 40 degrees (Celsius). Breakfast could be better (more coffee & fresh stuff, please!) and I guess it would be very noisy if your neighbours are loud (luckily we had quiet neighbours).
Very nice B&B! Amazing view to the lake and mountains. Owner family was really polite and we shared many laughs. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel dont bother. But if you are looking for warm, homelike feelings this is your place! - couple, age 24/28, Finland-
Where does one start, on arrival the hostess walked pass us in the car and made a passing gesture of acknowledgment but at no stage told us what to do or where to register etc.. The owner then took our passports away to check etc., fair enough it happens but then proceeded to keep them for the full duration of the time, ive traveled around Europe and never had an establishment insist on keeping my passport for the duration of my trip! Breakfast consisted of cereal, pre bought snacks/cakes, yoghurt and one coffee, if you were quick you may be able to get two before the host took them away. The host has a very bad and rude habit of cleaning whilst you are still eating, if you offer a breakfast service and the guests are eating at the allotted time I do not expect to be made to feel awkward by having somebody cleaning the table next to me and washing up cutlery etc. The pool has set opening times, although if the host does not want you to use the pool he will just keep it closed, and please note no playing by/in the pool. Rules of the B&B. There is a friendly dog on site, so friendly it bit and ruined a pair of jeans of one of the people I was staying with. Finally the price, do not be fooled by what you are offered as upon payment this may well change, and the official documentation in the B&B that sets out the minimum and maximum price you would pay will also not be adhered to. In conclusion avoid, there are better establishments in a lovely area.…
when we arrived there was no one to welcome us, the lady she walked in front of us saying: good day and left us there outside waiting, other guests let us in. There are many rukes to follow: no cooking in the kitchen, whith this I mean even making yourself a sandwich is an issue, the pool cxan only be use according to their timetable, you cannot stay in the living room chatting, the breakfast is the poorest I ever had, some cheapsuperkarket cakes, bread, some fruit and 1 coffee, you cannot not have two! He kept the front door always open, which caused fresh breeze and they have a big dog, that when you say you are afraid of frankly they did not seem to care. Furthermore, it is very noisy, you can hear anyone else in the other rooms and there are windows you cannot shut some light is in the room very early in the morning. Overall with many discussions about payments which he wanted when we arrived and not when we left, he managed to ruin our holiday, as also the price seems to have been changed. The location is noce but please go elsewhere there are many other nicer places in Lecco.…
