Landed here by chance and ready to come back soon for a sweet weekend out of town. An ancient tower is the main body of the Relais and it has been fully and delightedly restructured by Cristiana, owner and amazing host of Il presidio. All rooms, named with a wine label, have a special touch and make you feel out of time. A perfect location if you want to explore Como lake, especially onLecco's side. You will immediately like Cristiana and the way she will welcome you already from the reservation moment. And you will finally love her with her handmade cookies and cakes at breakfast. Definitely a great place both for couples and families.
Stayed there for two nights. The place is very clean, silent, cozy and with good wifi connectivity. Out of the city, but very accessible. Hospitality and service at top levels. I still have a taste of the fresh and home made apple pie...fully recommend.
The hotel itself was lovely, with a very nicely finished recent renovation, with clean rooms and bathrooms. The location was handy to access Monza and the lakes during the day, however Oggiono does not have many restaurants so travel to Lecco is really necessary for evening meals. Bad aspects were that there is no reception and it was not always possible to get hold of the owner. Except for breakfast on request, there is no access to food or wine at the hotel itself, except for breakfast. This surprised me as the hotel's slogan is "Fine wines, cooking and deluxe rooms"!
The surroundings are very nice so is the charm of this old house, perfectly kept in shape and modern inside, very clean too, the welcome was perfect, we had a little incident with hundreds of ants in the room and were able to change room very quickly. The only bad point is that it felt like sharing a room with the other guests as it is not sound-proofed at all, so we couldn`t sleep in the morning as we would have liked to.
Recently got back from a 6 day visit here with my parents and partner. We stayed in the multi story room which was very comfortable for us all. This also came with a large balcony with table and chairs and sun loungers which was great for the evenings. The views were also really nice from here. The room was very clean and spacious, the upstairs sofa bed wasn't too comfortable but wasn't terrible. The room could do with a bottle opener! And plates would be good as the kitchen isn't always open, so if you want your own food buy plastic plates aswell! Although I did ask for some and was given a couple of plates. The lady who welcomed us in was very friendly and spoke good english, the building is only manned from 3-7. You can park right outside the building and there is a front garden area that looked really lovely although we didn't sit in it. The only downside was the building works going on next door which were quite noisy in the mornings but couldn't be helped. The location is great, not too far from anything but nice and tucked away and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place for a visit to lake como although you'll definitely need a car for the stay as I didn't see much public transport around. Overall beautiful room and great customer service, I didn't eat here so cannot comment on that.…
I loved this place - VERY new and VERY clean, which I always appreciate. The hosts are very nice, we used their recommendation of the restaurant for the dinner which was a great choice (my husband still talks about the pepper steak he had there). They speak English alright, breakfast is ok (nothing special so you can skip it), room is pretty, all the amenities (hairdrier, a critical thing if you ask me) were in place. Couple warnings: our room had no AC, just a ventilator, if that's important for you And don't forget it is a B&B, not a full scale hotel, so the reception does not work around the clock - in our case we had to rush to be in the hotel in the working hours. One more thing - out GPS did not list this address under city of Lecco, but rather under Oggiono - maybe this information can be helpful to somebody…
Relais il Presidio is the perfect place to stay when you want to explore the Lago di Como and the pictoresque villages around the lake. Il Presidio is very cozy and staff as well as owners family are very friendly. All rooms appear new and very well equipped. Please do not forget to ask for restaurant recommendations. You can trust them 100%. And as a little hint for golfers: Just ask the owner for his recommendation. He knows the best places and helps to book the tee times.
