Beautiful hotel set in Como with a rooftop view of Lake Como.
Everything was excellent 💕
The only thing that could be improved is the opening time of the pool. It closes at 6pm. So when you get back from a day trip and desperately want to cool off in the pool with a cocktail you can’t. I really struggled therefore to find time to use the pool.
The food upstairs is not as good as the food downstairs. I’d recommend eating downstairs then having a cocktail on the rooftop.

I appreciated Sorina's bright smile and the breakfast each morning which was fabulous. Small self serve laundry Lario and Puglia restaurant in walking distance made this stay even better. Staff friendly and helpful. $15 or less for taxi/uber to center of town.

The hotel is beautiful and is spotlessly clean.
COVID is taken very seriously with temperature checks on arrival and on entry to the restaurants.
We had breakfast included in our stay which had plenty of choice. The waiting staff were very friendly and attended to our every need.
The infinity pool is located at the top of the hotel and overlooks the lake. There are plenary of places to sit and lots of areas to take shade. The view is amazing.
We had a family room with large bed and pull out sofa. Lots of space with everything you could need. 2 x TVs, fridge, ironing board, hair drier and also a couple of USB charge points.
We could also hook the iPad into the TV via a HDMI adapter.
We arrived by car and parked in the underground car park at the hotel. This is rather expensive at €25 per night but it did have 4 electric charge points for the car that are free to use (with a card from reception and you’ll need your own cable) so this negated the cost a little.
The hotel is located one street back from the lake but is a little far out from the restaurants and town center. It’s a 25 minute walk into town. We’d recommend walking down past Villa Olmo and walking around the lake as it’s much more semicolon than just going right out of the hotel and through the streets.

Dear Richard, thank you very much for having taken the time to share your fantastic review following your recent stay here at Hilton Lake Como. I am delighted to learn you have spent such a great stay with us and I am especially pleased to know you have appreciated our modern architecture, the comfort of our rooms, as well as our location. The hotel is in fact located at 15 minutes walking distance from the centre of Como, reachable thanks to a lovely pedestrian stroll along the lake which also offers great views. I am definitely pleased to know your weekend has been memorable and I hope my team and I can have the chance to welcome you again in Como. Alessio Colavecchio General Manager

We enjoyed our stay here —with a few big caveats.
Pros-the hotel seems new. It’s well designed, clean and attractive. We loved our room (spacious, clean, awesome lake view, comfortable bed). It’s also perfectly located if you enjoy walking and being close to the action (but not in the thick of it). There is a quaint cobblestone “lake promenade” (across the street from the Hilton down by the water) that will take you into Como after a beautiful, relaxing (and not at all crowded) 15-20 min walk. You’d probably miss out on this if you stayed in town. The staff at the Hilton is nice and accommodating. The bartender downstairs knows how to make a great drink. The hotel’s “street food” pizza downstairs was some of the best we’ve had in Italy so far.
The Cons— We had a terrible meal at their Terrazza 241 restaurant upstairs. My husband compared one of the complimentary appetizers to a Hot Pocket (enough said) and the (lavender) smoked (actual smoke) ravioli was bland and flavorless (except for the unexpected burnt lavender smoke smell/taste). Undoubtedly, the restaurant is good for a drink or dessert on a clear day when you can sit outside and enjoy the view it’s known for; however, if it’s rainy and dark or you’re a foodie, I suggest the pizza downstairs or going elsewhere. Breakfast downstairs was fine but we didn’t learn until our last day that they had a la carte options in addition to the buffet. The spa services were reasonably priced but otherwise basic and underwhelming (I would not book services there again.) The only cons for the room are that the lighting system can be slightly complicated and you can’t really enjoy your view without everyone seeing you—so you end up drawing your curtains quite often, making you question why you paid for a premium view in the first place.

We stayed here in August during corona. Concerning safety and precautions the hotel was impeccable. Rooms are nice and big enough. However we did not feel at home or welcome, maybe because we did not wear Gucci loafers and Chanel scarves. It felt too posh and snobbish, the other guests treated the (really nice!) staff in a condescending way, I did not like the atmosphere that created.
Breakfast was not a real buffet, due to corona restrictions, you saw the buffet and staff members put on your plates whatever you chose - however we only found out by chance that there are some items you can order additionally, like pancakes, berries or waffles. No one told us or asked. The berries we got were partly off (and really moldy, that was disgusting!). There was no dressing for the salad and you had to ask for salt and pepper. It felt like you had to ask for every little thing, which makes you feel like you are a high maintenance guest getting on staff’s nerves, when it is just normal things you usually expect to just be there.
The rooms lack some basics like enough coat hangers in the closet and closet space in general. It looks like a big closet from the outside, but one is filled with an ironing board & iron, the other is just a door with no space behind it, and that leaves only very little space to put your clothes. The shelves are pretty high so if I wasn’t 1.80m I could not have reached them. That is a no go in such an expensive hotel.
Pool area and view are great but not enough room for all the guests - we did not get a place to sit or lie down on the sundeck on most days of our stay. What is a pool if you can either be in the water or in your room, but not around the pool to relax or read? We will definitely not come back.

My wife and I stayed at Hilton Lake Como for our honeymoon and the reception staff graciously had a welcome gift ready for us in our room upon check-in. The pool and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. However, we found the hotel's location from the pier far and not ideal (20 minute walk through narrow streets). I had also asked the hotel concierge about taxi or car reservations to the nearby Como S. Giovani train station, given that we had a train out to Milan the next morning, and they said that it should not be a problem at all to get a taxi in the morning as it is a short 5 minute drive. However, after we checked-out and followed up with the concierge, he made a single call and then said no taxis are available. He did not provide any alternate options until I inquired further, and suggested that we should simply walk the 20 minutes with all of our luggage. Given Hilton Lake Como's inconvenient location and price point, it should have shuttle services to/from the pier and train station, or at least have local partners to provide more accessible transportation services for its patrons. I wish I loved my stay at Hilton Lake Como more, but I could not recommend this hotel, especially when there are cheaper hotels with far better locations and impeccable service (i.e. Hotel Royal Victoria in Varenna).

Dear William, Thank you for leaving your review on TripAdvisor and for sharing your experience with other travelers. Please stay assured that your feedback is really important for us and has been already shared with all head of departments in order to improve constantly. Our colleagues always do there upmost to ensure each and every guest has a wonderful experience. I can assure you we will share your comments with all the team. While it is true that we are not located right in the centre of Como, we are only at 15 minutes walking distance from the city and its main attractions, reachable thanks to a lovely pedestrian stroll along the lake which also offers great views. For what concern the taxi situation, I am sorry to hear the experience did not exceed your expectation. We provide a private transfer service, however, the number of guests during the high season that usually use the service to go directly to the airport could preclude the local area. The concierge probably understood that the public and private service was not available at that particular moment and suggested to use the pedestrian route. From all of us here at Hilton Lake Como, we hope that you've had a safe trip home, and we look forward to seeing you next time! Kind regards, Matthias Welzel, General Manager

I would like to give thanks for the warm welcome and excellent service at Hilton Lake Como.
Upon checking in, we got an upgrade and the wifi was free, thanks to being a Hilton Honours member. The staff were extremely friendly from the get-go. I had many questions about activities around the area, and the concierge were always very happy to help!
The breakfast was absolutely superb and I felt very safe during these times. My only suggestion is that it would be great if the hotel could look into more vegan options, particularly vegan sausages to include with the cooked breakfast. However, still plenty of options if you do have dietary requirements.
The room service was quick and the food was very delicious! Hotel staff picked up the tray straight away, so it wasn't left there by the morning.
Even when I had a small complaint, the hotel staff were very compassionate and helped to solve my issue straight away. Honestly, the best service I have ever received and the understanding received really goes a long way, so thank you.
The best part of the hotel is, of course, the infinity pool. I really enjoyed spending my mornings admiring the beautiful view.
There are some complaints that the hotel is too far from the city centre, but I don't see this as an issue personally. The short 20 minute walk along the lake is beautiful - plus, it's worth the hotel to have this location when you have this view.
I also recommend renting the city bikes they have on offer. We had a lovely time cycling to the next village.
Maybe, the only other suggestion is that it would be better if the spa wasn't at an additional cost. It would have been nice to try the spa for an hour or two, but didn't think it was worth the money unless you plan to stay in the spa for longer. I'm sure it is lovely though.
Overall, a very great experience and we were really treated well! I cannot wait to return again soon. I had a fantastic time here with my Mum, who also rates the hotel highly. This will be my first choice next time I return to this part of Italy.

The hotel is located in a magical spot that guarantees an amazing view from its rooftop, equipped with a beautiful swimming pool, a terrace and a bar/restaurant. The room had an adequate size, but we were a bit disappointed with the amenities and infrastructure in the room. No coffee machine, no set of cutlery, nor enough slippers or robes for all occupants. The pillows pleased me, but were too big and dense for my kids, who had trouble sleeping (no other options available). Also slightly disappointing that we spent 2 nights in the same room, but it never got cleaned. The policy of the hotel allows a cleaning up to 6:00pm, so someone tried to clean the room at 5:00om, when we had just returned form a long walking day, and the family was resting - no cleaning therefore.
Considering that every commerce is at least 10 minutes walking away from the hotel, basic beverage and snacks could be available at the minibar at a price, as they are not, it’s worth to get prepared yourselves before checking in.
My dog was well treated with a comfy pillow and a small portion of food for the first day, as a welcoming gentleness.

Overall, very good stay. We enjoyed the bar very much and the food was very good. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The only draw back was the waitress that told us we can only have one glass of tap water rather than ordering bottled water. We’re just tired of heavy sweet taste of the mineral water and assuming that we trying to save money is bonkers. We’re Diamond members. The excuse given that they don’t drink Como water is misleading as tap water in Como is safe to drink. Hilton is just pressuring people to spend more money – end of story.

Hilton in Lake Como was a very pleasant stay. All rooms do not have a lake facing view and you’d either be lucky to get one or get an upgrade at a cost if the rooms are available. Nonetheless the lobby, cafe, bar and the breakfast all were at par with some of the best properties in Europe. Functionally designed and suitable for couples or families, we didn’t have any complains here. Check in time could have been shorter but we arrived on 31st Dec when the bustle was at its peak hence its ok. Sarino/Sarina at the F&B service in coffee shop deserves a special mention for her extra zeal to help and lovely smile at all times. All staff makes one feel at home and welcome. Very helpful concierge service. Shall come back for more such stays here as the town itself is fantastic and this hotel adds on to the charm.

Dear guest, thank you very much for having taken the time to share your fantastic review following your recent stay here at Hilton Lake Como. Thank you for metioning Sorina, rest assured that I will also pass on your comments to her and recognise her accordingly. I inform you that our Satin restaurant is open all year round even for guests who do not stay at the hotel, come and discover the news on our menu. I hope my team and I can have the chance to welcome you again in Como. Kind regards, Alessio Colavecchio General Manager

Shropshire, United Kingdom57 contributions18 helpful votesDo guests have to pay extra to use the rooftop pool? And what are the pool opening times?
There should be parkings on payment close to tue center in front of the lake, and just be careful with the limited traffic zones there
Yes the outside pool is heated and is beautiful. The view is also amazing. Not sure how busy it will be but definitely worth trying it out.
There is quite a large of food selection but - we are not big breakfast eaters, so for what we would have eaten it was very expensive. We ended up simply going to a nearby cafe each morning and (for a very reasonable price) bough a smaller breakfast. Saved a lot of money $$$.
