Breakfast here is served in the lovely garden - but I'm pleased to report there are no serpents about! I spent a few blissful October days staying here. My room was very comfortable, with good-quality toiletries and a daily service. I slept very well indeed. Breakfast was very good too - exceptional coffee with delicious wholemeal rolls and pumpernickel being... More

Generally, I do not write negative reviews. If I have a bad experience, I let it go – my mother told me that if you cannot say something nice about someone, do not say anything at all! I prefer not to discredit a place based on one or two experiences. I am making an exception in the case of the... More

We stayed here for three nights with another couple to celebrate a friend's 50 th birthday. The hotel is clean and the staff welcoming. The manager is very helpful and speaks good English. The location close to the main square is perfect. We parked nearby in a public underground car park. We had fresh towels daily and the showers were... More

Me and my wife checked in this hotel with really low expectations because of the reviews and we new the infrastructure would be old and simple. As a surprise we received a room with a beautiful terrace. Also the rooms were extremely clean and all very well maintained. The most valuable asset though is the very authentic hotel owner which... If you go to Portofino, Italy, this three star hotel is an excellent alternative for those of us that do not wish to spend a fortune. It is fairly basic, but offer all what you need: a comfortable bed, a working but not too noisy ac and a nice morning meal. Extra plus for the good location ( quiet yet... More

Perfect location with an oasis-like garden in the centre of Portofino. Nice terrace for the breakfast. The terrace could be covered in case of poor weather. Nice, clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds and a nice view over the garden. The bathroom was not too spacious, and the shower a tad narrow. A mixed experience with the staff. The... More

Travelling alone and in the off-season, I stayed in the tiny little attic room at the top of the hotel. Be aware that there is no elevator! The hotel itself was lovely however and the host helped me with maps for my hike to San Fruttuoso and to plan for my travel from Portofino to the Genoa airport. Lovely weekend... More

I stayed at the Hotel Eden for five nights and was very pleased. Clean and comfortable with everything you need. Good value, good breakfast, Wi-Fi, en suite, even in one of the cheaper rooms. The owner was very helpful printing me train timetables, lending me a book, asking if I wanted coffee when I returned each evening. It's quite a... More

The hotel is quite OK and could actually be rather charming if it was run by sympathic professionals. In fact, the hosts lazy, grumpy and indifferent attitude made us realise how important friendly and inspiring service is to fully enjoy visiting a new place.
