If you come from the Airport the Volabus goes every 30 mins and costs 6 Euros each. If there are 4 of you the VolaTaxi costs 26 Euros. The Volabus stops outside the hotel in Principe Station. The Hotel was excellent in every respect and the breakfast was fabulous, an enormous selection. The reception staff (especially Madelene ) were so...

We were due to be staying at the Continental next door but when checking in received upgrade to the Savoia next door. Location just outside station to your left. About 10 minutes walk downhill to the centre. Room very dark and not very big but did the job as we are not ones to stay in our room. Breakfast very...

Literally opposite the bus/train station, which is where the airport bus goes so it is very conveniently located. Short walk to the old town as well. Staff were friendly. Free wifi, tv, safe, tea/coffee, hairdryer, toiletries and bathrobe/slippers all in the room - basically everything you expect from a 5 star hotel! The room wasn't huge, but adequate for a...

If you are travelling by train to Genoa, this hotel is a walk across the road from Genoa Piazza Principe station. Easy. The room was totally comfortable. The restaurant is pricey but the food was superb. The wait staff were wonderful. It is so easy to walk to anywhere you want in Genoa and all forms of public transport are...

A little frilly in decor but immaculately kept. The staff whose English is excellent are genuinely helpful, it feels like a family hotel but more efficiently run. The communal areas are not a destination in themselves like many grand hotels, but the bedrooms are absolutely up to date, good a/c, the blinds and shutters work so the rooms are dark...

We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. We'd booked a Deluxe double room with a balcony. This was at a rate of €167 to include breakfast per night. The room itself was spacious, clean and well decorated. There was a super king size bed, a table and chairs, a wardrobe, dressing table, television and a small settee. There...

A large comfortable old world hotel close to the station but with completely sound proofed rooms. Rooms are small and the splendour is a little strange, the public areas look to have been partially refitted in the 1970's. The buffet breakfast was very good and bilingual staff acted quickly to sort out a couple of minor electrical problems in our...

Stayed for three nights at the GHS on a Secret Escapes deal. There is something about Grand Hotels in Italy and this one absolutely typifies the genre. It's certainly not "faded elegance", but they are a reminder of how it all used to be, back in the day. Reception is small, but functions extremely well and every one of the...

This was our first time in Genoa as we were leaving on a cruise. Not sure what to expect as my friend did the booking, I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The rooms weren't ready but we were able to leave our luggage and go exploring. We returned around 2pm as suggested by the front desk and were assigned...
