We visited Vernazza in the Cinque Terre. What an awesome place, but too many people. Had part of a lunch at Gianni Franzi. The anchovy lunch was pretty good, but my wife had the linguine pasta with shrimp—too salty. I think it was the cheese added to the dish (picorno?). In any case, we couldn’t eat it and the waiter/restaurant... More

Its a nice dinner out! Food was very good. Steak was great, salad was fresh and pasta was tasty. Wine was very good. Service was okay. I would eat here again! Defiantly try the restaurant! Its in the square in Vernazza.

Although there is a bit of a hike up to the rooms, the staff and room itself was quite nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each day there with a view right over the water as well. Wifi only available in the common room, located near the bar/breakfast room.

The Ristorante Gianni Franzi in the seaside village of Vernazza in Cirque Terre is a very nice place for a meal. December, when we visited, is a quiet time for Cirque Terre and many businesses had closed for the winter. However this cosy restaurant was still catering for the few tourists visiting the village. The menu is prominently fish and... More

This place is ideally located for tourists - great view and easily accessed. Still, the food was surprisingly good. I ordered the polpo with potatoes, and it was very tasty. This is a good choice. I don't have much else to say.

We stopped in for lunch and both had variations on the seafood and pasta dishes which were delicious. There was not an empty clam or mussel shell which is not usual in my experience. The servers were friendly and efficient which was good as the place was packed and not just with tourists.

We stayed at Gianni Franzi for 3 nights. Vernazza was a great place to stay while in Cinque Terre, with many options for dining. We chose Gianni Franzi because of the views, and it did not disappoint. Breakfast was served on a cliffside terrace, and there was also a peaceful terrace with lounge chairs overlooking the water. The room was... More

Enjoyed the location of this residence and their amazing deck for cocktail hour and breakfast and their views of the sea. I am giving four stars for the establishment instead of five, partially because I booked late, and my husband and I got a room on the first floor without a view, so this is naturally partially my fault. These... More

We recently stayed in Vernazza on a 30th wedding anniversary trek on the Cinque Terre, and the Gianni Franzi was the perfect location. The hotel is high above the town, facing out to sea, and the views from the breakfast room and terraces are breathtaking. But we were delighted to be given a first floor room down above the Gianni... I've been here many times and I crave their seafood spaghetti, it's amazing!!!! Filled with a spicy olive oil, lots of clams, mussels, squid and shrimp. Yum!!! I am not a sardine fan, but the sardines here are another story. You should give them a try, they are so fresh and delicious. I always enjoy them when I'm here. Try... More
