Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel offered us valet parking for € 25 per day. Since we have an electric car, we handed over the car with a full battery to the hotel / valet service at 10. 30 a. m. The car was parked in the garage at 5. 30 p. m. , 7 hours later. The next day we received the car with 64% battery power. The hotel hardly felt it necessary to clarify this matter, we received an e-mail two days after our departure that the car had been parked properly. I find the feedback to be impertinent. The only thing the hotel offered us was not to pay the € 25.

Hotel's Favourite
What really set this hotel apart was its terrific staff, who was helpful and made the experience as smooth and easy as possible. I left my luggage early, before check in, and they moved it to my room for me. Very good, reasonably priced restaurant recommendations, helpful staff with everything. Highly recommend.

What a lovely surprise this hotel was. It is very central, a short walk to Piazza Unita and other interesting sites. The rooms are comfortable and, every day, were always cleaned well. The staff in this hotel continued to surprise us! I would love to mention them all, however tops are Fillipo and Valentina and all their front office team as well as the team in the restaurant. If there was something we needed, it was in our room when we returned. If there was a concern, it was solved immediately. The breakfast was also a surprise - so many wonderful choices, and lots of variety. The team were always ready to provide information and suggestions, ready with maps and ideas. We had wanted to go for a day to Slovenia and the team suggested a company which was fantastic. The only negative was on Friday and Saturday evening we could hear the noise from the bar close by, however, music was turned off by 1130pm, so not a major problem at all. I found Trieste very clean, very tourist friendly ... Also interesting to note, is on the Audace Molo (Pier) many people were sitting waiting for the sunset, and to capture the perfect photo...absolutely worth it!! I also recommend booking directly with the hotel. Very well done Urban Hotel Design... we would definitely stay with you again!!!

We traveled to Trieste to cruise on the NCL Gem to the Greek Isles. This was our second time visiting Trieste and the second time staying at Hotel Urban Design. It is a great Boutique style hotel that is right in the middle of everything. The rooms were spacious including A/C, a great bath room and comfortable beds, public area and an elevator. The floor of the hotel restaurant has plexiglass so you can see the Roman ruins of the port from 2000 years ago. The full breakfast was fantastic and included eggs, bacon, assorted meats, cheeses and breads. They also have coffee machine that offers everything from Cafe Americano to lattes and expressos. The staff are friendly and took care of all our requests. We arrived after midnight and we had no issues getting our rooms. We were traveling with our granddaughter and her fiancé. The hotel is a few blocks from the cruise port and a block from Unity of Italy Square. We walked to the port the day of our cruise. There are lots of local restaurants around and plenty of history to see. A block away is the 1st century Roman amphitheater. Trieste is a hidden gem and Hotel Urban Design is a wonderful hotel to stay when you see the sights.

exemplary, well informed, a bit Palermo Buenos Aires flair, secluded and articulate. Rooms with a design penchant, adequately airconditioned and with independent units entrance wise. Though located in a noisy area it manages to avoid all.

Hotel Urban is the best place to stay in Trieste. Perfect location, optimal and attentive service, super clean and spacious rooms with a sleek modern design and shower that is to die for. Breakfast is excellent and offers a wide variety of local and international selections. The dining room allows you the unique chance to enjoy a meal over a glass floor that showcases ruins of the ancient Roman port of Trieste below. The restaurant is incredible and has an up and coming chef who personally greeted us after our meal. COVID-19 precautions are impeccable. We really can’t say enough about this special gem and can’t wait to come back.

Modern, clean and inviring hotel. Ouside does not look much and slightly off putting but once inside it is lovely. Greeat location close to all bars and restuarants and yet so quiet. The breakfast (included) was amazing.

On paper this hotel had everything we wanted, it was central and modern, and not wildly expensive. Sadly our stay there and that of our friends did not go well. We had booked a suite, which was not in the main block, though we were not told this. Both the bedroom and sitting room were dark and airless, and we had to have the lights on all the time, apart of course while sleeping. The receptionists were not impolite, but you felt they could be, they were not that helpful. Possibly having come from Slovenia and the charm of the people there, I was expecting too much. The breakfast was OK, however the downstairs lavatory was a disgrace. Dirty with the waste paper baskets overflowing. I mentioned this to the reception, and they said they would deal with it. Two hours later there had been no improvement. it goes without saying, I would never book this hotel again. The Aosta, which is nearby, is a bit more expensive, but a far safer bet.
