This is hotel with excellent placement, just near center of Tireste, then we went for swimming across the street , there are city beaches when you can enjoy Adriatic sea. Stuff is amazing very professional, speaking languages, everyting is clean, in the bar we had welcome drink prosseco and fresh lemonade , with some amusebuche , then romms are very nice clean, beds are super comfortable , we had nighr sleep like babys, atmosphere in the hotel very positive , and old style class. There are bikes to use for free if you want, Morning breakfast was fantastic, the products fruits, everything was fresh and very good qualityn eggs we had hot warm , they make for you in kitchen, yogurt so good quality, then sitting on the terasse whil eating breakfast and overlooking the Adriatic sea was the real pleasure! Sincerely, we will come back to this hotel becouse we adore it , and we were sad to leave it , they were also king to reserve for us dinner in very good restaurant not far away from hotel. Looking forward to come againg in Grief Maria Theresia , and yes parking for the car is fantastic , there are place for everybody, and you do not need to worry about. Best regards to this wonderful hotel and their stuff .

The hotel is in a great position. I had sea view from my bedroom. The staff was extremely kind and efficient. There was safe parking for my car. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel, with buses that take you everywhere in Trieste. The room was comfortable and had been recently updated.

Nice friendly receptionist. Not your typical reception desk but instead a nice antique desk and chairs await you while you check in. My room was a bit outdated and could have been better for this class of hotel. The furniture was well used and the wooden window shades did not close properly. It was rather disappointing that we had to wait for service at the bar. It was the same person at the front reception. No bartender. Since the owners are trying to save money on labour then this hotel should be down graded. I did not try out any of the amenities of the hotel but the swimming pool looked nice. Breakfast was okay but not great for this class of hotel. It was nice to sit on the Terrace and view the sea across the building in front of the hotel. This hotel is not seaside by any means.

This is a first, as I’ve never had the opportunity to revisit a place I’ve left a negative review for however my wife insists on staying here because it is close enough to her relatives home we can see their home from the balcony. Good news, they have replaced the warped hallway flooring with new carpet as well as the corroded bathroom fixtures - both a plus. Bad news is despite this being the coolest & wettest spring in Trieste in 70 years, the room is still a hot sweat box. Sure, it is easy enough to open the balcony door, but then you have to suffer through the constant loud traffic noise. To put it plainly, the air conditioning here still does not work. Thankfully, due to the colder than average weather, we made it. The breakfast hasn’t improved much either. Not particularly bad, but not particularly worth looking forward to. They did have a nice assortment of different fruit tarts & pastries this year. The best news? My wife promised me she would never book us here again after threatening her with a divorce!

I very seldom leave a negative review however this place definitely is way, way over rated and not worth the time, $$$, or aggravation. On the positive side, the staff is very friendly and courteous and the water pressure is amazing Air conditioning is a pathetic joke. On several occasions during our stay, we heard other guests complain at the desk too, so I know it wasn’t just our room. We complained as well to no avail. I wanted to move to another hotel but my wife was adamant we stay put for different reasons. At nights we opened the balcony door because it was cooler outside than in our room and that’s with leaving the drapes closed all day to keep out the sun but then had to contend with the ever present traffic noise. 85 degree days in Trieste without working AC is just miserable!!! The building may look imposing on the outside but inside it is very tired and dated to the point the finish has worn off the bathroom fixtures. Our hallway had water damage on the floor as well and the hardwood is warped. There were also splatter marks/stains all over the wall paper in our room. There is adequate parking once you figure out how to enter it as it isn’t marked very well. We unloaded in the busy street after driving around the block a couple times before we figured out the parking entrance. The morning breakfast buffet was adequate at best. The scrambled eggs were left on a plate cold. I made two attempts and gave up on going to breakfast. A positive note: the view is wonderful from the terrace dining area if you want cold eggs and awful coffee. I’m not sure how this place can continue to advertise as a 5 Star hotel because it’s far from it and extremely disappointing & just bad!
