It's difficult to beat the location of this hotel directly on the Piazza Unita d'Italia. I spent 8 nights here, so was delighted to learn that I had been allocated a suite. That delight was short-lived when I opened the bedroom door (I think the fact that they squeezed a sofa against the wall was the reason that it 'qualified'...

This is a quintessential European hotel of the old style but has all the modern conveniences that we expect. The staff is extremely helpful and the location in the centre of Trieste makes it easy to walk to shopping, restaurants and sightseeing.

Location is great, almost facing the sea, next to the Piazza. One can easily wander around any time of the day or night next to the sea !!! Hotel itself is classy. There is a sense of antique all over, and rightly so. Rooms are a bit cramped though (I stayed in Room 212). The prices are highly overrated though....

Stayed 2 nights in this charming hotel in August - the room was small but inexpensive, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Particularly nice is the bar on the Piazza d'Italia - really good Whisky sours. I'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel itelf is pleasant & in a great location right on the corner of the Grand Square in Trieste. The rooms are small with tiny bathrooms but adequate, although rather noisy at night & in the early morning. The beds are comfortable but the bed linen is horrible, almost like sandpaper & very uncomfortable. However the worst part of...

This hotel was our layover night hotel traveling between Venice and Rijeka (where we were renting a car). The hotel is situated right on the Piazza Unità d'Italia, said to be the largest square facing the sea in Europe. It is a place where locals walk and talk and stop at one of the local outdoor cafes. The rooms are...

We had a nice, comfortable room, with a water view. The bathroom was also nice. Only complaint was noise from street band until wee hours (on a weekend night.). The staff recommended a great restaurant in the nearby area that was once the Jewish ghetto.

I stayed here for two nights and like the place a lot. Pros: - Location (Piazza Unita' d'Italia, a main attraction of the city) - Breakfast (good selection of cold and warm) - Spa / indoor pool - Classic decoration - Nearby restaurants and bars Cons: - No on-site parking (though valet parking is available for 25 Euros per day...

Just before I entered the hotel, I looked at the building and I felt some excitement, and some kind of an expectation of a pleasant surprise. Well, when you step inside that feeling disappears immediately, as the entrance hall is all but exciting, and the next feeling is of a disappointment. But, once you enter the room, you can feel...

Given cock and bull story about the hotel aircon not being turned on due to unexpected hot spell, finally upgraded to a room where aircon did work despite staff claiming it didn't! This hotel is superbly situated, breakfast very good, but badly needs some investment. The building itself is a beautiful period building but the interior, especially rooms and common...
