I was made to feel extremely welcome and would highly recommend this B&B. The room was very comfortable, the location perfect, and colazione was very good. I wish I had stayed for five nights instead of only two. I also appreciated being able to practise my limited Italian with Giorgio e Chiara. It was a special stay!

Excellent bed and breakfast in Trieste. More than a bed and breakfast but a place with the warmest , friendliest and most helpful owners .A truly authentic experience with a superb variety of breakfast choice ,a comfortable well appointed room with all your needs in a tranquil area .Most of all the kindness and care of Giorgio and Chiara to start your day in Trieste with a smile .

I stayed here for 6 nights in late October of 2018 and had the best experience ever! This B&B is run by retired Giorgio and his daughter Chiara. They are the two nicest people you'll ever meet and made my stay so comfortable and homey...plus the value for staying here was unbeatable. I have not stayed much at B&Bs as I like to have a private bathroom and many don't but this one does. They have 3 rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. I stayed in the single room and it was so comfortable and roomy. Great shower/water pressure, comfortable bed, outlets by the bed, desk and in the shower room. The toilet/sink is in one room off the bedroom and the shower/bidet/sink is in another off the main bedroom. The closet was spacious so I could unpack and also store my bags there. Breakfast was super fresh and delicious! When I checked in, Giorgio gave me a sheet with food and beverage options that I could circle...coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, eggs, pastries, cheese, meats, breads, cookies and also indicate what time I'd like to eat. I opted for the traditional Italian cornetto (croissant), cappuccino and cheese/salumi. There was always more than enough food, the cornetto was fresh each morning and Chiara made me the best cappuccino. As there are only 3 rooms, you may eat with one or two other guests or not. Talking with Chiara was a highlight! Giorgio knows a few words of English and Chiara's English is very good. If you want to request something in English and Chiara is not there (Giorgio lives on the property but she doesn't), you can always communicate with Chiara via texting through whatsapp (download it before you leave home). They are great hosts and completely knocked it out of the park for me. Advice about what to do, how to get there, how to get some laundry done, etc. And the location can't be beat. Right in the middle of the city, you're within walking distance to Piazza Unita, the grand canal, restaurants, shopping, places to have un aperitivo each night (like all Triestinos seem to) and a 15 minute walk from the train station. The only reason I took a cab to and from the station was due to bags and being tired. I walked there each day when I was attending a trade show that was located close to the station and it was a quick walk. You can message me if you have specific questions but if you're considering this place, do it now as they seemed like they're full most of the time. PS, "petra" means stone which you'll see through the kitchen and bedrooms.

My daughter and I stayed at B&B Petra for 3 nights in July. It was superb! I would definitely stay there again if I ever return to Trieste... I even would visit Trieste just to be able to stay again in this B&B. It was that perfect! The service was excellent, the room quiet, the food delicious (buonissimo... to practice my limited Italian), and the people who run the B&B are just about the friendliest I have encountered. Touto era perfetto! Gracie mille! Saluti, Joan

Probably the best b&b in Trieste. Like visiting family. Very well situated - fabulous shoe shop on the corner! - turn right for canal area with churches, cafes and pizzeria, and go left for Corza and really good shops and the old town.

We had a wonderful time at B&B Petra. Giorgio and his daughter were wonderful and forthcoming hosts. The location is great to explore the city; breakfast is plenty and good and in a beautiful kitchen. Rooms are very nice, feels very authentic Italian. We definitely recommend to stay here.

I have stayed at B&B Petra three times since 2012. I was and still am very impressed with the quality of the service, the level of cleanliness and the friendly people that manage it. Located in the heart of Trieste, this B&B will not disappoint you. The owner Giorgio and his daughter were absolutely lovely and very welcoming, I always have the feeling of being at home every time I stay there and this is priceless. Thank you ever so much for your hospitality, I wish you all the best and look forward to coming back soon! Sabina

B&B Petra was one of the highlights of our recent holiday, Giorgio the owner and host goes above and beyond to ensure that your stay with him is enjoyable, comfortable and a great place to return to after exploring beautiful Trieste. Giorgio loves a conversation and is fun to talk to. He delights in making you a cup of coffee at other times not just at breakfast, we were even offered glasses wine, cheese and many other treats on our returns from sightseeing and dinner. Outstanding hospitality. There are three rooms in the establishment, all with bathrooms, our room faced onto the street but the double glazed windows blocked out any street noise. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and nicely decorated. No complaints about the comfort of the bed, pillows or linen. In the morning Giorgio serves breakfast in his kitchen which gives you the opportunity to meet and chat with other guests which we don't mind doing. Breakfast consists of many organic products, yoghurts, cereal, fruit, eggs cooked for you, the most delicious croissants, cheese and cold cuts, juice, tea and coffee. We did not leave hungry and were in no hurry to leave such a pleasant start to the day. The B&B is well located in the centre of Trieste, from the main train and bus stations it took us twenty minutes to walk with our packs. The location is well served by restaurants, cafes, retail stores and local buses. If Giorgio recommends a restaurant to you I highly recommend that you follow it up, they will be delicious. This was my first visit to Trieste, it is now one of my favourites places in Italy, I just don't spread the word; beautiful location by the sea, great people, food and sights.

We spent one night here on route from Marco Polo airport to Ljubljana. We arrived late at night but Giorgio couldn't have been more welcoming even coming out with us to show us where we could park our car for free. The rooms are unique and really tastefully decorated. Giorgio made us a lovely breakfast in the morning. We wished we could have stayed longer as Trieste is a lovely city.
