Situated in the city centre, but at the same time quiet. We went there for a 2-day business meeting and used the conference rooms, shown in the picture. The kind personnel of Continentale Hotel, tended to our needs at all times, since it is somewhat of the same property, with Palace Suites, offering apartment residency, for a more independent stay.
The Palace Hotel is great, just perfect to catch your breath, but its location lends to having the city at your feet.... literally. You can walk anywhere. The staff was great and attentive. So helpful with parking our car and just in general. I am going to come back to Trieste and spend a week there, just taking it all in. Thank you so much!
If you are looking for a perfect apartment place in Trieste, this is it. 1) Location, location and location. Right in the middle of the pedestrian zone, 3min from Piazza Unita, 2min from Ponte Rosso, 5min from Viale XX sept. 2) Spacious, nicely appointed in a palazzo-style bldg (one of the nicest bldgs in Trieste, IMHO) with all the amenities incl. a modern kitchen. Some with balconies. 3) Sumptuous breakfast included for seemingly no extra in price compared to others. 4) Excellent service at Hotel Continentale. The staff are really terrific. 5) Parking nearby fo eur15/day minus 10% hotel discount.
Driving from Croatia to Norway, and we wanted to see Trieste. Booked for 1 night, 1 hour before we arrived. You can not drive to the hotel, so need to drop off. My wife and 2 kids was looking for the apppartment while I parked the car in Park San Giusto. If you drive, I think this is the best place(15€ for 24h). You get a 10% disscount from the Hotel. My wife did not find the appartment, and asked around showing google maps, but no. I find it straight away, but could not get in? A nice old woman came to me and told me to go in to Hotel Continental, just 40 meters on the other side. Here we were met by a fantastic staff, and we finally got the key to open our way "home" for the night. The "home"(room) is great. Tidy, very large, clean and silent (5th floor with elevator). It is very in the centre of Trieste. Recomend ++!!…
While these apartments are in an exquisite Stile Liberty (Art Nouveau) building, the interiors are not nearly as elegant or harmonious; everything is perfectly functional but a bit more attention to design could take it up a notch or two. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, but a bit dark with inadequate lighting. We had difficulty getting the Sky TV to work, but eventually (on our second try) a staff member figured it out and also showed us how to change the option to "original language" so we could watch movies in English - which was a treat. It was warm and humid the first night we were there, but since the HVAC system had been switched over to heating no air conditioning was available so we had to leave the windows open, which made it a bit noisy (when they were closed, however, it was quiet - very good acoustic windows). Pillows were a bit hard and uncomfortable. Since the apartment complex is managed by a hotel around the corner and since both buildings are in a pedestrian only complex, it is important to pay attention to the directions on their website - and it took both of us since one of us stayed with the car (and then park it) while the other went to get a porter to help with the bags. Breakfast was at the hotel - and seating was very limited the first day with staff doing their best to reset tables as people cleared out. Choices were limited and coffee very weak. One thing that concerned us throughout was the the door to the street was never fully closed. While we never felt unsafe, it would seem that in a building with no staff in the lobby they would want to ensure the door closes and locks whenever someone enters or leaves the building. A better closing device - or simply telling those using the apartment to ensure the door is locked behind them - could easily solve this problem. Overall, we thought this was an OK value for a good space in a good location. It wouldn't take much to make this a great value, but it would take someone with a better design sense.…
