Our advice: do not stay at Hotel Torino in Parma! Sadly one of the worst experiences of a hotel in Italy ever. The three stars are not justified. We tried to settle the situation with the receptionist and the management right at the start of our stay to give them a chance for improvement but no one cared. We were hugely disappointed by the room (where is the extra "comfort" we paid for? The room was not cosy at all, in a badly worn condition (loose wallpaper, bad and moudly plastic shower...), really bad value for money, no style whatsoever, crappy items, poor wifi, noisy [other rooms, bad window], bad view...) and a change of room was either impossible or would have cost a lot of euros extra for no big improvement at all. The staff was rude and does not care a bit. Our advice to fellow travelers: do not come here! Stay somewhere else. Parma deserves more than this!…
I booked a dingle room. The little road on which the room went was extremely loud. A bar and singing people made it very difficult to sleep. Windows do not hold the noise back at all! Wouldn‘t book the hotel with such a room again. Breakfast rather simple, staff nice and helpful, room very clean.
The room is very clean, with comfortable bed and spacious. It has good value at such a cost. Location is very good. You can go reach all the popular attractions or restaurants in 10 minutes. The staff is very nice but a bit not enthusiastic in giving guidance to us . Maybe he is too familiar with the places around.
Usually once a year I have some business in Parma and I always stay in the "Torino" not only because it seems familiar to me but because it is perfectly located in downtown. The rooms are small but cosy, the hotel is convenient, the staff is always kind and helpful and you can get accomodation at a very affordable prize.
Hotel Torino enjoys an enviable position in a quite alley right in front of the Teatro Regio in Parma city centre. The rooms are quiet, maybe better those with inner windows because there is a rather lively bar nearby. The concierge service, even though consistently without smiles, is efficient and helpful, trying their best to accommodate most requests, and the hotel has the added bonus of a parking space for cars underneath. The rooms are small, seriously small, and the bathrooms resemble those of some Japanese ryokan with their amazing space management. The housekeeping service could do with better manners, for example avoiding loud conversation between employees or, worse, by mobile phone all over the corridors early in the morning. The breakfast has good materials (excellent prosciutto and coppa) but a couple of cooked dishes would not hurt. Ok price if you get some special rate, otherwise it could be rather costly.…
