Really nice hotel in the centre of Bologna, just 5 minutes walk from the main square and about 8 minutes to the tours. We were able to check in early and our room was lovely with a little terrace and shower room. No tea in the room sadly & the breakfast was a bit hit and miss with a few things being empty and not refilled until just as we were leaving but it was ok for a cup of tea and light breakfast. The bit of a shortage I suspect was caused by there being quite a few people in there when we got there who loaded their plates high and left so much half eaten on the tables. Great location, reception staff very nice with a lovely large spotlessly clean room & it fitted the bill for our brief stay perfectly.
Three night stay. Great location, a short stroll from the main square and all the main sights. 15 to 20 minutes max flat walk from the station. Friendly reception and breakfast room staff. Good breakfast, with excellent coffee made to order. Large room with a very comfortable bed. Big bathroom. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The place seems almost new. Zero internal noise. The windows are not soundproofed, so I would not like a room at the front, where there are restaurants. Our room was at the back, overlooking a narrow side street. Very little traffic, so very little noise. Large internal courtyard with plenty of seating. We will definitely be back!
Hotel is in a fantastic central part of Bologna. A short 5 min walk to the main Piazza Maggiore where you’ll find shops, restaurants and streets off it that hold amazing bistros where food and drinks can be found. It’s a hive of activity and fantastic atmosphere. Now the hotel, our room was second floor. There is a lift. Our room was big but had three deep steps leading from hallway where toilet and wardrobes are to the bed area itself. It was very tired looking, marks on walls, but clean. Bed was very comfortable which was a blessing. Our room was cleaned each day and clean towels every day too. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which we missed. Iron was non existent think your may have to ask reception for one. Breakfast well here is my biggest gripe, it was awful. I don’t eat cereals, bread etc. So when I saw the scrambled egg I thought great! Not great. it was over cooked and cold there was eggplant slices and zucchini slices again cold. I refused to eat the egg left in hot plate last day as was sticking to the plate. They did make more when I asked. It was lovely as it was the first hot food in 5 days. Cold meats and cheeses don’t get refilled after 9:30 by the looks of it. If your great with fruit cereals bread etc you’ll not mind. But for those who can’t eat it you’ll struggle of your down after 9:30 breakfast is till 10:30. We would come back again but not take the option for breakfast.…
Booked the hotel with booking photos show a modern room!! But I had booked a standard room num 254 to be fair old fashioned room red and gold new bathroom very clean fabulous location::: Breakfast very nice choice Staff lovely Highly recommend Value for money If your looking for a town center hotel at a great price it’s this one
We only had one night in Bologna and the Cavour was perfectly located for us to quickly visit some of the main sights and try the local bars and cuisine. Unfortunately we stayed while the trade fair was on, so all of the hotels were nearly double their usual price. At its usual price the Cavour would be very good value. We had a large modern room on the third floor with a nice view, a firm bed, a large bathroom and an excellent shower. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially in the breakfast room, where some items were self-service and others to order. Altogether a good, reliable choice.
