Unfortunately the room we got is very simple and most annoyingly the wall to the room next to us is paper thin. I guess you know what this means. It seems to be the bathroom of the adjoining room behind our bed which is certainly not the entertainment that we expected when we booked the room. The only thing positive is the nice breakfast, but people might have to wait for a free space as the breakfast room is very small.
I chose this hotel as its between the station and centre, only 5/10 mins either way so perfect for what we wanted. Small and cosy with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean and situated at the back of the hotel with a bath - just what's needed after all the walking we did! Along with a very comfy bed. Walls were a little thin but we had no problem with noise at all. The breakfast was good italian and set us up for the day. A great base for the city which is beautiful and some easy train journeys to lovely places. We only managed Ravenna and Modena as the weather wasn't great and the arcades in Bologna mean you can walk for miles around the city without getting wet. I will definitely come back to this hotel
The hotel in itself and its position just behind the main shopping street Via dell'Indipendenza are excellent. The price was adequate and the rooms basic, but comfortable. However, the amount of noise both from equipment (clima, lift, who knows what else...), and the staff itself walking and shouting in the corridor made our stay quite stressful. The breakfast also was rather minimalistic.
I stayed for three days in October. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean and well kept. My room 119 was quite small, I was travelling alone so it was absolutely fine, but might be a bit tight for two people.
This is a superb hotel. The rooms are small (mind you, I have stayed in much smaller!), but are air-conditioned, have everything you need and a lovely king-sized, comfortable bed. The breakfast is excellent (by Italian standards!) Don't expect a full English cooked breakfast. That does not happen in Italy. Mostly you will just get coffee and cakes/biscuits. In this hotel, there is a buffet with quite a good range of food. The service is friendly and efficient, and all at a very reasonable cost! The location is excellent - a leisurely 10- minute walk to the main railway station and just minutes from Via del Independenza with its huge range of shops and restaurants. This is an hotel worth trying. We will be back!
