I stayed here in November with two other friends and we were all really happy with the hotel. The staff we extremely helpful ( and I had lots of questions) making bookings and telephone calls for us about various things. It was clean and comfortable with charm. Breakfast was often busy but had a good variety of things on offer....

I stayed at the Porta San Mamolo for work related business and I found it very comfortable. I just wish I could have experienced the beautiful gardens and terrace in the spring and summer. However, even though it is January and cold in Bologna, the rooms were really warm and cosy. Very pleasant stay, indeed.

This is a three star hotel needing to improve some basic requirements. The room did not have any information relating to how the safe worked or television channels available. The mini bar was without glasses or openers. The room was clean and comfortable although the carpet and towels were tired. Our stay was over New Year the hotel was very...

My husband and I and our grown daughter stayed at the Hotel Porta San Mamolo for 5 nights, arriving late afternoon on Christmas Eve....The front desk was very helpful and accommodating in finding us great places to eat on the 3 days when most restaurants in Bologna were closed. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was more than...

Despite arriving very early after an easy run from Como, our room was ready and we were offered a coffee in the breakfast room. Brilliant staff, great room in the courtyard, very nice bathroom with a corner bath, comfortable bed, quiet location and an easy walk to the centre of Bologna. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Pretty faultless, really.

Hotel Porta San Mamolo oozes with character and charm. The staff are excellent and super friendly including the resident cat. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfy. The hotel has a beautiful garden and breakfast room in the centre. The breakfast was very good and had a full range including homemade tiramisu! It's in a great area...

I stayed at the Hotel Porta San Mamalo for three nights. The hotel consists of rooms in several buildings. I had stayed there with my family three years ago and we had a large room in a building a few doors down from the office and our only complaint was the lousy wifi. This time I was alone and was...

We stayed in this very convenient hotel for 6 days. The room was compact and spotlessly clean but unfortunately only had a shower in the bathroom. Breakfast served in a conservatory in the garden was excellent. The only drawbacks were the lift which sounds like an orchestra tuning up (annoying in the middle of the night) and the bimbo on...

After traveling around northern Italy for several weeks, the Hotel Porta San Mamolo was our final "home" before returning to the US. We stayed for 5 nights. Our room was quite large and comfortable (I believe they put us in a larger room due to our longer stay). The staff spoke English very well and were all warm, welcoming, gracious,...
