Booked two nights at the Mercure Bologna Centrale location. Disgrace to the Accor Hotels. AC did not work, rooms were old and needed renovation work asap. Front desk staff, terrible and have attitudes Lumpy bed!!! Only good thing about this hotel is the location to the station. Book elsewhere. Lots of others hotels nearby and affordable.

I think the alt-title is "you get what you pay for." I thought this hotel would be ok, based on stays at other mercure hotels. It wasn't. Staff were helpful and friendly, The car park is around the corner on the rear side of the building. It is not Free, it is 20-euros/day. There is direct access to the hotel from the car park. Parking aside, it was inexpensive, 118-euros/night This is an older building and it shows. The rooms are compact, not much spare space. The bed was hard and lumpy, and the pillows reminded me of why i generally carry one of my own. I think i've also been spoiled by Hilton hotels. There was only one chair in the room. The curtains did not fully close and would not blacken the room. The bathroom worked for its intended purpose, but the bathing facility was a tub shower with the hand shower added as an afterthought. It was easy to bump into the shower temperature handle, and the hot water was hot enough to scald you if you didn't move quickly out of the path. The bath towel was a decent size, and there were hand towels that were more like a thin cotton dishtowel that was not terribly absorbent. I don't know what you were supposed to use for a wash cloth. i should have looked harder and stayed elsewhere.

Despite the poor reviews, i though this hotel was fine for what it is. I was staying at the Mercure Bologna Centro for 3 nights, as i was going to the F1 Grand Prix at Imola and chose this hotel as it's is smack opposite the main train station, which is easy to use to get to / from the airport (Marconi Express 7 minutes) and to get to Imola (20 mins away). Yes, the hotel decor / facilities are slightly old and tired but the staff were perfectly fine and friendly. Reception - despite arriving early at 12pm, my room was ready for me which i appreciated after a long journey. Room - I had a room on the 6th floor overlooking the main road and train station. I was concerned that it would be noisy but it wasn't that bad. I had booked a single room and the bed looked uncomfortable but it was totally fine. The room was basic had everything i needed and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly good! Bar - a nice area with good access to the lovely gardens at the rear. Location - as i said, right opposite the main train station and the city centre is a short walk away including all the good restaurants etc. Overall, i was satisfied and pleasantly surprised. It's not a hotel i would stay at for a city break, but it suited my needs for good access to trains.

This hotel is a disgrace for the Accor group. It is old, the climate control in the rooms is bad. The breakfast is poor and prizes during fairs are crazy. Avoid at any time! During fairs there are not that many options but stay away from this hotel and rather travel from outside the city.

The hotel is tired and quite frankly needs to be compleytely redone. The rooms are old fasioned and do not align with modern hotel standards, and I am not fussy. The bath was chipped, broken toilet seat, ugly old radio bedside table that seemed to come from the 70s, which did not work of course. The breakfast was basic and did not offer much choice. The rooms were clean but not particulary comfortable. There was a kettle but no cups, coffe tea or anything. The mini bar had two small bottlrs of water...thats all. This is is a low budget hotel with a big price, between 115 and 215 euros per night for a single occupency room. For his price you can get a better much better hotel in the centre of town. my best advice...go somewhere else.
