One of Rome's most exquisite palazzos opens its doors to begin a new chapter in its regal history as the Palazzo Dama: a magnificent destination hotel that redefines luxury in the Eternal City, welcoming guests to experience Rome in a majestic, full-service villa. The legacy of Palazzo Dama is steeped in the history of the Malaspina family, one of the oldest noble families in Europe and the palazzo's inhabitants for over a century. Constructed near the banks of the Tiber river, the Roman villa was both the Malaspina home and host to high society gatherings where the family entertained diplomats, aristocrats and prominent cultural and social figures. Palazzo Dama is named to honor the dignified elegance of the aristocratic woman - the dama in Italian - among the Malaspina generations. Today, Palazzo Dama retains its eminent historical beauty, but has been transformed into a luxurious destination that is not just a place to stay but a place to escape, complete with a private club and bar, as well as an outdoor pool that are set to become Rome's new hotspots for a discerning, international clientele. Steps from Piazza del Popolo, the hotel offers the unique experience of a grand villa situated at the very heart of Rome, where guests can choose from any number of events and experiences in Italy's capital city. Designed by architect Antonio Girardi, who oversaw the entire renovation, 29 rooms and suites have been conceived as light-filled sojourns where guests can enjoy their Roman stays in the comfort of exquisitely appointed spaces. An elegant pool invites visitors to relax in the lush, secluded garden surrounded by olive and lemon trees. On the rooftop, a private terrace offers the chance to delight in an evening aperitivo, accompanied by spectacular views that sweeps from the Tiber to the Vatican, across the breathtaking cityscape of Rome's cupolas and terracotta rooftops. Inside the hotel, the PACIFICO ROMA Restaurant has opened on March 2017 offres a nikkei peruvian cuisine managed by the Chef Jaime Pesaque.

We loved this hotel. Absolutely great staff made us feel welcome and at home from checking in to checking out. The hotel is convenient to the old city and 10 minute walk from Spanish steps and all the fashion houses. Best part is the lively scene at the pool and great food. Definitely would stay here again.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The staff was helpful booking our reservation before we arrived, having our room ready for an early checkin and offing us an upgrade as one was available. The hotel common areas and rooms were very clean, the staff were extremely friendly and the decor was beautiful. It was really nice having a pool and the courtyard was relaxing to have a cocktail and go for a swim after a long day exploring Rome. The hotel also offers bike rentals for no cost which was a great way to explore the city. Overall I have nothing bad to say about the hotel and to be honest it takes a lot for me to be blown away (but I was and I would definitely recommend this hotel!). I really had no idea what to expect as this was my first time in Rome, but I would only ever stay at this hotel going forward.

There are not too many hotels in Romes city center that have a swimming pool (essential visiting in August at 40 degrees) and also look good, hence we chose this hotel. Pros: - Absolutely fantastic design, perfect blend blend of the historical premise with modern design - Good breakfast: no rushed buffet but stellar a la carte service by attentive staff. - Reception is very helpful with just about anything - Rooms have all the typical amenities, but high attention to detail and quality (e.g. Aqua di Parma shower gel, very cool furniture) Cons: - Might be expected in the city center but rooms were quite noisy. The problem is that the hotel itself adds to the noise with music till very late night. I am a good sleeper but I can imagine this will upset many travelers. The hotel leaves earplugs in the bathroom if that’s an omen. - Service at the swimming pool is not at the same level as the breakfast.

Beautiful Hotel but run like a hostel. It’s 1:49am and there is a party raging in the back yard keeping the whole hotel awake. They rented the back pool and patio out. No night swimming or cocktails in the backyard for hotel guests because it’s a private party with a DJ pumping thru your room until midnight. Once they shut down the DJ, you feel like you have a shot at some sleep, but it’s drunk screaming and it’s still going strong at 1:49am. I’m not a prude but this Is not what I was expecting. Oh, I called down at 11:30pm to ask when DJ was ending and I was put on perma hold and then not picked up on subsequent calls. Its a party spot being run under the guise of a hotel. I’m guessing they have financial issues due to Covid and are taking any biz they can get no matter how “off sides”.

It's been sometime as Covid scuttled all our best laid plans to Italy but finally, late April, we made it back to Rome and to our "home away from home". An amazing AA flight from Dallas (7 passengers in total) was followed by a couple of beautiful days in Positano (no tourists at all) and then a stay at thsi magical place. Stunning rooms, pool, restaurant, location, service, and much more. Go visit the Fendi Museum while in town!
